A very involving and easy read that goes well beyond just the crossing of the Delaware. The author does an outstanding job of covering the personnel issues and personalities of our founding fathers. Beyond that, he outlines the reasons that the Hessians were involved, their background, etc. He does the same for France, and underlines the British issues, and how many of the Brits actually supported the colonies' cause.
It is a very well researched book that should involve no controversies. It won the Pulizer Prize in History. I highly recommend it.
