This review is from: The Girl Who Wasn't There (Nancy Drew Graphic Novels: Girl Detective #4) (Paperback)
"The Girl Who Wasn't There" is the fourth installment in the latest reincarnation of Nancy Drew, girl detective. These graphic novels are based on the familar characters from the Nancy Drew series by Carolyn Keene, with Nancy Drew, her best friends Georgina and Bess, boyfriend Ned, and father Carson Drew reimagined into the high tech world of the 21st century.
In this story, Nancy makes friends with a girl her own age who is at the other end of a computer help line in India. When her new friend Kalpana asks for help, then goes missing, Nancy convinces her father and two friends to go with her to India to investigate. In New Delhi, Nancy Drew finds there is no trace of her friend at her place of employment, and no evidence she ever even existed; well, almost no evidence. Super sleuth Nancy and her friends will follow a slim trail of clues into a dangerous confrontation with a mysterious criminal gang in an exotic and unfamilar land. The content is entirely safe for grade-school readers. "The Girl Who Wasn't There" is meant to appeal to the latest generation of Nancy Drew's fans, and is recommended to that audience. |
