This review is from: The Waste Land and Four Quartets: Two Works of Poetry by T. S. Eliot (BBC Radio Collections) (Audio CD)
I had T. S. Eliot reading The Waste Land, Four Quartets and Prufrock and it was good. Then I found out that BBC had recorded Paul Scofield A Man for All Seasons (Special Edition) reading Eliot and had to have a copy. It does not disappoint. Blew poor T. S. out of the water. As the title indicates the Quartets (based on Beethoven's Spring Quartet #15)are supposed to be verbal music. Scofield manages to capture this quality. Hypnotically beautiful.
