Editorial Reviews

Think Willie Nelson, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton rolled into one, and you can only begin to imagine the sensation of a Lukas Nelson performance. Lukas and his band, Promise of the Real, are fresh vital rockers that are reminiscent of the great American rock and roll heritage and breathe new life into that spectacular music genre.

Worth buying. This boy and his band have the chops to be great! This Apple didn't fall far from the tree. He and these boy's are the "real" deal!

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Musicians May 15, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this cd, but, I was a little disappointed in some of the lyrics. I am an open minded older listener with a great love of country rock and good lyrics. That said these are a tad, without sophistication.
The music was professional, tight, and rockin' though, maybe we will see some growth in the wordsmith area of this band.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as PROMISE of the REAL Album June 2, 2012
By Rock On
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love Lukus Nelson's band. His talent is awesome. But this album was a little lame. It does not compare to the magnificent "Promise of the Real" album. I'm still a big fan, and will keep following this Band. I'm hoping with a little age will come better song writing. The lyrics were somewhat juvanile. All about getting high. In his previous Album (PROMISE OF THE REAL) he talked about family, life, love, disapointment, happiness. In this album is's all about smoking joints and the right to stay high. Which is all good, but very one domensional. This album was a dissapointment. Lukas you can do better. Don't get lazy.

I've always been a fan of Willie Nelson and was curious about his son. This was a pleasant surprise! Lukas has a distnctive sound, much like his father.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some really good, some just so-so
Some of the songs are hard to hear Lukas singing. The guitar is too loud. Others, he is at his best and sounds an awful lot like his father. All in all, a pretty good CD. Read more
