One to "watch",
By A Customer
This review is from: Watch Me [VHS] (VHS Tape)
One of the better mid-90's entries in the soft-core genre, this film is just now getting wider notice. The actors and actresses are all attractive, the story is stronger than usual in "late night" entertainment, and -- best of all -- the film features a rare appearance by the lovely Jennifer Leigh Burton. She seems to have disappeared after doing this film and "Playtime", an even better movie, so savor her when you get the chance!

I think you should know that although the slip-case of this video tells us that it runs for approximately 90 minutes,my copy, including credits, ran for only 72 minutes.Looking again at the case I see that the film is 'Edited'.That's an understatement, and in 2002 I don't expect soft-core erotica to be cut at all.

5 stars in the soft genre, though it's not in the slightest. It's erotic AND romantic AND tasteful. Lots of female nudity and a good story line. The actors are all attractive, and reasonably adept, and only one character is a sleaze bag, which is relevant to the thread. It's a chick flick with skin, even has a happy ending. Camera and sound are first rate; good sound track. Rented it, watched it; rerented, rewatched it; ordered it here.

Don't Watch This,
By A Customer
This review is from: Watch Me (DVD)
This movie bills the beautiful Jennifer Burton as the star but she is more of a supporting actress. There are worse films in this genre but that is not a good reason to watch this one. I would recommend instead that you check our Jennifer Burton in Playtime and Jennifer Hammon in Allison is Watching. The original Emmanualle with Sylvia Kristel should also be purchased before considering this mediocre effort.

Jennifier Burton is a bona-fide thespian. I seek to write her an e-mail and encourage her to extend her range of acting. She is the first petite body that I have ever liked. I am not old, but old enough to know that she is a unique women. She should have had more involvement with the "peeping-jane than she did. The Dance routine of the peeper was so hot I turned it off because I was too embarassed to feel the way I was feeling. It's a very good B-movie. You know what to expect in a way, but this one is not silly at least. I wished it had actually got more invoved with the photographs that one of the co-stars was taking. I will buy it for the artistic themes if nothing else. Jennifer Burton is beyond words. Julia Roberts is overrated compared to Ms Burton!

Awesome Film,

The film features some really gorgeous, moody cinematography. It is a guilty pleasure. The story is intriguing, diabolical and multi-faceted. The different characters are interesting. I love this film.

Do not watch Watch Me,
By A Customer
This review is from: Watch Me [VHS] (VHS Tape)
With the notable exception of an Avalon Anders cameo in the middle of the movie, this edition into the softcore genre does nothing to bolster its place in movie history and everything to reinforce the stigma associated with the B Movie industry - poor acting, bad directing during erotic scenes, poor plot development and an inevitable habit of leading the viewer on for 90 minutes without any provocative satisfaction. Do not watch the unrated or R rated of Watch Me. You are better off giving the $10 to $20 to charity.
