This review is from: Watch Your Dreams (Hardcover)
This book is a gold mine! I have read numerous books on dreams and few really acknowledge the full potential for the mystical aspects of dreams. Ann Ree Colton goes beyond the psychological paradigm and gives us some real spiritual meat. This book might be a bit too "out there" for those just beginning to explore the meaning of symbols in dreams, but for veteran dreamers, it is marvelous. For example, Colton talks about the influence that the moon has on dreams; the zodiac sign through which the moon is traveling will give a specific lesson or meaning to the dreams in that time frame. She also speaks about animals appearing in dreams, signaling at which spiritual level the dream is teaching. Are you working on primitive survival issues or more esoteric teachings? The animal figures who show up offer a clue. She includes a dream dictionary which is not terribly extensive, but goes into much more depth in certain topics. For example, she suggests meanings for various specific colors (four types of yellow!) and specific trees and flowers. The language is a bit flowery and esoteric, but highly suited for a mystic!
