I joined Weight Watchers about 8 weeks ago and have lost 16.6 pounds so far and have found this recipe book to be Fabulous! The recipes are written well and are easy to follow and for the most part are quick. I have tried about 8-10 recipes and have not disappointed. The ingredients are easy to find. Using this book has given me the variety I need to keep me on...

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be a waste of money for those with the older edition
I gave it a 3 star review because ii is IDENTICAL to the 2006 edition. I have just sat and compared the indexes for both books and so far have found NO difference. In fact, the cover picture for this edition is the picture from page 241 in the 2006 edition.

However, if you are looking for a good Betty Crocker meets WW type cookbook, then either edition (since...

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy recipes the Whole Family Can Enjoy, October 11, 2009

This book has many great recipes. I have cooked a number of them and so far I have not been disappointed. My husband and children (ages 3 and 1 1/2 hard to please ages) have enjoyed the recipes. Many of them are weeknight recipes and are simple and fast to make.

1.0 out of 5 stars New cover, Old book, May 27, 2010

I bought this cookbook because I love Weight Watchers recipes and I was very excited to see that a new cookbook was available. As I looked at the new Weight Watchers "momentum program edition" for 2009, I noticed that a lot of the recipes looked familiar. I starting checking my other cookbooks and realized that this "new" cookbook is a duplicate of the "WeightWatchers New Complete Cookbook" that was published in 2006! The only changes are a new picture on the cover and a slightly different introduction page.

Although Amazon is great and will let me return this "old book with a new cover", I feel cheated by Weight Watchers. When I called Weight Watchers to complain, they gave me the phone number to a publishing company who said that they couldn't help me because I didn't buy the book from them. "Hooray" for Amazon and "Boo" to Weight Watchers.

2.0 out of 5 stars Untested Recipes?, November 9, 2009

Only tried 3 recipes since receiving the book. All three tasted great, but weren't even close on the number of servings the recipe made i.e. Slow-Cook Manhattan Clam Chowder recipe was SUPPOSED to make 6 servings at 1.5 cups (total 9 cups). It made 5 cups. We had similar results with the other two recipes we have tried. This draws into question the Momentum points accuracy. This is the way it went with all 3 recipes we have made. Frankly, I don't think they have tested the recipes in the kitchen.

If you don't mind recalculating your points total and if you aren't relying on needing the number of servings for your meal, then this cookbook is for you. For me it was an over priced disappointment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Book, October 23, 2009

I have the first " New Complete Cookbook " copyright 1998. This book is VERY Simular, in fact some of the receipes are exactly the same. If I had to guess how many are repeats going throught Index I would say every 10-15th receipe is identical to the first book. This new Book has a Holiday section with some traditional and Ethnic style desserts, that seems really nice.
So if you have the first NCC as i mentioned above and don't mind a few repeat receipes then this is the book for you. I look at it as just that more easier to find those basic receipes when you go hunting through your cookbooks for somthing to make. In fact I Hi-light my favorites in the index, so I guess I will have to do it in both books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding help, December 1, 2009

This book is a godsend . There is a great deal of practical advice and it is a huge help in making delicious food using the exact recipes and their advice on how to make things yummy and yet lo-cal.
the book has a wonderful index so you can pick quick meals , spicy meals etc etc .
I have seen other recipes and such available but this book because it teaches you to prepare some marinades and stocks allows you to have on hand the items you need to put a great meal on the table that is satisfying and healthy.
Buy it and use it !

4.0 out of 5 stars Good recipes but flimsy book, November 9, 2009
This review is from: Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook Momentum Program Edition (Ring-bound)
Calculating points for home cooked food is easier when you follow recipes. The cookbook is also nice for new meal ideas. I'd give the cookbook 5 stars, but am really disappointed in the quality of the paper. The pages are flimsy and tear easily if you're not very careful turning pages. As an alternative, I looked at the Weight Watchers Momentum Cookbook 2009 (200 Easy Recipes to Get-and Keep-You Going) at my meeting this week. It's paperback, but I believe it would be more durable.
