Best This Year!!,

This is probably the best album I've bought all year. It's has great tunes & great lyrics. I bought this album on a recommendation from a friend and I do not regret it. You won't hear his music too much on the radio but that's no excuse for missing out on this album. If you like coldplay or travis you'll love Alex Lloyd!!

Where the heck has this guy been?!,

I don't know what kind of music you've been listening to lately, but this is better. Alex Lloyd is reminiscent of Coldplay or David Gray without the over-hyped "music-biz" feel. Buy this CD! Not only does he come up with these amazingly catchy and beautiful chorus's, but in several of the songs he seems to come up with two amazing, beautiful chorus's. This guy's got talent.

This has to be one of my favorite new artists this year, I first heard the song "Amazing" when my best friend sent me an email from Syndey saying that she had found this tresure. I then quickly downloaded Amazing and Green and I was hooked on the first listen!!! I rushed out and bought "Watching Angles Mend" and found it to be what I have been waiting for for a long time. The melodies on the album are untouchable and the lyrics, well lets just say it aint no "one hit wonder" The highlights of this album would have to be "Trigger", "Bus Rid", and "Everybody's Laughing" those are just my favorites, the entire album is excelent!!! also if you havent heard or bought it yet, you need to get his first album (Black The Sun) it is to die for!!! happy listening :)

I got this album after hearing the single "Amazing". I was blown away with the rest of the album and went out the next day and bought his first CD - "Black The Sun". "Watching Angels Mend" is one of those albums you just have to play over and over again. Buy it now!

An amazingly raw talent, Alex Lloyd is mesmerizing...,
This review is from: Watching Angels Mend (Audio CD)
This album iss one of the best albumm i ever bought, there's no weak track on this mezserizing and grandiose album. I don't know where the US radios are but they seem to let the good music (look UK's best girl-band Sugababes and avant-garde 2-Step collective So Solid Crew, the indeniably cachy alterno-pop Swedish band The Carrdigans and the Aussie geniuses Kasey Chambers and Alex Lloyd)unplayed. Anyways, if you went on the internet and you ask more for this item it's surely because you're interested in great INNOVATIVE music, aren't you?Well, if you like heartfelt numbers à la Coldplay, musically enriched songs à la The Beatles and incredible rock, give Alex Lloyd a try.

Wow! Buy this album!,

This is Australian Alex Lloyd's second album, and it definitely doesn't suffer from the sophomore jinx. It's even better than his first. This is a guy with talent to burn. He's got one of the most versatile voices out there, good musical chops, and intelligent lyrics. Each song sounds unique and different, enhanced by interesting production. The record runs the gamut from pop rock to country rock to ballads.

bright, melancholy and superbly written. these are the kind of hooks that has helped coldplay and grant lee phillips. this deserves to be heard.

My choice for album of the year!,

I hadn't heard of Alex Lloyd before "Watching Angels Mend" -- I had read a review and without hearing anything I went out and bought the album. That can be risky. Not with this album, though : just go buy it!I am recommending the album wholeheartedly. Alex Llloyd has a very expressive voice and the song writing is sublime. Sweet, lilting pop treasures is what this album is all about. My, what a surprise!! Now I have to go get his first album.

BEST Production values on CD I have heard,
By Jose Bay (Pour Le Monde) - See all my reviews

The sound of Alex Lloyd (or Alex Wasiliev as he's actually known - his real name) is by far the most advanced sounding production I have heard on any CD and beats even my favourite artists. This album is hi-tech. While not as instantly gratifying as Black The Sun, it is lyrically more intricate and poetic in meaning. So while this album is not as fancy as his first one, the songs are still there and both albums so far compliment each other well. Watching Angles Mend has the substance and better lyrics while Black The Sun is better produced and more diverse and complex in texture. Either way both these albums are stunning, catchy, state of the art gems. If you like David Gray and Neil Finn, Alex Lloyd is right up there with them. Though Finn and Gray may be more respected and have classical timeless back catologues, Lloyd is not far behind, if not, dare I say it, has a better engineering and production sound.
