A pretty decent clock, overall. The image is a bit misleading. I had expected perhaps a plastic clock face, however, the entire clock is wooden or something, and the black and red notches are painted. This means the notches might not be filled in perfectly, or may bleed a tiny bit outside. From a short distance, the clock looks pretty good, though. Initially, I had some trouble putting a battery in too. I had to be pretty forceful with it. On top of that, the clock is pretty loud. A fast ticking can be heard as the little motor is whirring away. I keep it in my room, and it doesn't keep me from sleeping or anything, but it's easy to hear.

Considering you can't find a clock like this anywhere else (I think), you don't really have much of a choice. But it's really not a bad product. It's aesthetically pleasing, being such a simple design. Ultimately, it depends on how much of a fan you are of the graphic novel. I'm pleased with the purchase overall.

The clock looks exactly like the picture, which is good. Daughter used it in her room which has a comic book theme. When she put in the battery, the clock was very very loud. She ended up taking out the battery and just using it as wall art.
