Product Description

This water globe is fun and easy to assemble. Just create a design of your own out of any water resistant material (polymer clay is a perfect material for this purpose), then glue it to the rubber gasket provided. Fill the globe with pure water, add the floating bits and one drop of low-sudsing detergent to break the surface tension of the water so the bits will float properly. Work the rubber gasket into the neck of the globe and seal around the edge with silicone glue. Apply the base and you are finished. This globe makes a terrific personalized gift or a special way of making a statement. The globe measures 6 inches in diameter and the neck opening is 3-13/16 inches. When fully assembled to its base it stands 7-1/4 inches tall. For hundreds more craft, art and hobby products be sure to visit our National Artcraft Storefront. I've made four snowglobes and have ordered two more. The end product is really a unique gift. I have three pets...two Pugs and one Maine Coon cat. I found an online shop that sells animal miniatures and used all three in last year's Christmas themed globe. Everyone who sees it...which stays on display year round...can't resist picking it up and shaking it. They're always amazed when I tell them I made it myself! So...go ahead! Try one! Think outside of the box and get into a globe! You'll be amazed at what you can create!

Used this as a "Crystal Ball" in which I placed the engagement ring when I proposed to my now fiancee. Worked great.

What a fun project! I had a fovorite snow globe music box that sprung a leak, and I was so happy to find this item so I could re-construct the one I had enjoyed! Not difficult, was fun to do, and I got an extra so I can make up my very own for myself or a loved one!

Globe was as expected and a good product with a good rubber seal, etc. However, for some reason the enclosed snow was red, white and blue. For the snow globe, obviously all I wanted was white snow. That much was disappointing. I tried to make snow out of eggshells which was somewhat disappointing. Other than that it is a solid product.

Had the most trouble trying to actually find a DIY snowglobe kit online and in stores. This was the only seller who had these available and I decided to go with it.

The size of the item is enormous, it stands to about 7 inches tall with the base and is quite heavy when completed with water. Just something to take into account.

The only problem with the item is that it is very difficult to keep the ornament on the rubber base with epoxy. I do not suggest freezing the base as it makes the ornament more likely to fall off.

Makes an EXTREMELY beautiful gift

Other objects needed to complete the snowglobe:
-Silicon adhesive to make the base/globe waterproof and to stick the globe to the base
-Glitter comes with it but you can add crushed eggshells to make it double snowy
-Glycerine to make the glitter fall really slow in the snowglobe
-Epoxy, but I would recommend trying contact cement as I heard that it may work better

Amazing product to serve as a basis for your snowglobe!

I followed all of the instructions to the letter, but still had leakage issues, even after re-sealing with the appropriate sealant. I just reglued it for the third time- hopefully third time will be the charm.

Very torn, because I love the idea, but the execution of the product leaves something to be desired.

Additionally, the instructions don't address the fact that to get the gasket seated the gasket will have to be deformed repeatedly- a second issue I faced was getting the object on my snow globe to stay in place through getting the gasket seated. Eventually I simply glued only in the bare center of the object. It is staying in place, hopefully it will continue to do so but I still cringe every time I shake it, expecting this to be the time that it comes loose.

Looks good. You need your own waterproof glue so not everything was included. But when it was put together, the snow started dissolving & ruined the clear water.

This globe is nice but I bought it for a project with my husband christmas present which I used mineral oil in. The one thing I didn't realize was that you have to work the gasket in VERY VERY SLOWLY and release the pressure built up inside the globe at the same time. The gasket came bent so it was a little difficult to get in and kept falling inside the globe itself. In the end it took 3 of us to get the gasket in place.

If you have a lot of patience then this is for you but if you don't then don't bother buying it.
