Book Description

January 1995
This guide for swimming instructors offers guidance in creating a successful aquatic programme for all age groups, with activities which are designed to make structured water play safe and exciting. The author shows how to help students overcome their fear of the water, develop self-esteem and learn basic and advanced aquatic skills. The book contains activities like "the human cork", "buddy bops" and "pass the splash", which can be conducted in shallow water and require very little swimming skill. It also has a skills assessment grid which should help readers evaluate their students, and an activity finder which shows whether a game is for swimmers or non-swimmers, what equipment is needed, and what variations of the game exist.
