4.0 out of 5 stars Works much better than regular plunger, but could be improved.
Some of the bowl designs on many of the new low 1.6 / 1.28 gallon (or less) toilets cause problems for regular plungers. The exit hole is elongated and there are pressure assist holes where water helps push the waste out (preventing a good plunger seal). This is great for flushing power , but not for plunger use. I installed 3 new Kohler Cimmaron toilets and found this...

Do not waste your time or money. It is next to impossible to get a good seal to create the pressure needed to clear a small clog. I thought the flexible head was a good idea to help make a seal around a newer style toilet, it only frustrated me because the flexibility prevented that from happening.

I installed 3 new Kohler Cimmaron toilets and found this out the hard way. This plunger fits better down into the exit hole and provides improved pressure to clear the clog. It does a much better job than a round conventional plunger. It's seal could be improved so I cut the end off at an angle so it would seal better, which helped. It's made from a (not so attractive) semi-hard black plastic and quite large so you most likely won't be leaving out in plain view for your guests to see. An improved design should be white in color and have the seal area made out of rubber instead of plastic. So far I haven't found anything else that works better so if your having problems with new toilet clogs I would recommend giving this unit a try.

This thing clears the pipes! You have to use it a little differently. Instead of pumping it, let it expand fully between pushes. Chances are you'll only have to push it once or twice and the clog will be clear.

Excellent fit for the toilet in my house. This type works perfectly for a toilet with a recessed outlet. Very happy with the purchase.

This plunger does the job. Unclogs hard stools that often plug my toilet. Works better than a standard plunger.

They switched out the toilet in my apartment to a low-flow one, and my old plunger did not work anymore. I bought this one and it works just fine. It is big and ugly though. AND if your toilet is really clogged, good chance you are going to have to clean this plunger in the tub and then clear the tub drain with it. because of the ridged design, toilet paper sticks to it like crazy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great For Newer Toilets, September 6, 2009
This review is from: G. T. Water Prod. MP1600 Master Toilet Plunger (Misc.)
I bought one of these plungers after discovering that older conventional plungers don't work very well in the new fangled toilets. This odd looking contraption fits nicely and makes a much better seal to be sure. I do not however find it any better when it comes to older toilets, or sinks for that matter. Its new space age design doesn't make it plunge any better than the familiar variety if you are talking about an old sentimental favorite type of toilet, and therefore not worth the extra cost. For the new low flow styles around nowadays, it does indeed work better than a regular plunger.

I should mention that there is one other advantage to owning this plunger when you are fortunate enough to not have any formal use for it. You can have a lot of fun with it by just taking it out and asking people to guess what it is. Just make sure that there are no little ones around, for the responses never fail to get rather raunchy... Recommended for new toilets.

Had to revert back to an old plunger. This one just kind of flopped around.
