DON'T BE DECEIVED Doesn't run on water, not Eco Friendly,
This review is from: Water Powered Clock Round, Blue (Kitchen)
The claim that this product is environmentally friendly is rubbish. Its powered by a battery, it just happens to be a copper-zinc battery which uses water as a conductor. After a year or so the zinc strip completely corrodes away leaving you with a piece of plastic which doesn't work and you can't replace the batteries so you have to bin it. Not so environmentally friendly now is it?!
Having said that it works well as a clock for a while and it looks quite funky.

Cool, but cheap,

Considering the $20 MSRP of this clock, the designers didn't think through the design all the way. My clock is missing a few segments brand new out of the box. After taking it apart I realized that the clock itself is not water proof/resistant at all and it appears that some water leaked into the clock while I was filling it and damaged part of the digits. It's amazing that for $20 they couldn't afford to put a half cent rubber gasket around the edge of the clock to prevent water from doing this.
I recommend anyone who buys this to not fill this under a sink, try a water bottle or something so that you can better control the water. Edit: Now the clock only seems to work for about a day at a time before it starts to get very dim and shut off at which point I have to shake it to get it to come back but by then the clock is several hours off making it essentially worthless as a clock. I've tried changing the lemon/water mix several times now and get the same results.

Save Your Money, Do Not Buy, No Warranty from Bedol,

This review is from: Bedol Water Powered Clock (Kitchen)
I received the clock at the end of August. The right hand segments of the minutes display stopped working recently, 8:08 looks like 8:0E.
Although this clock is water-powered you need to add a small amount of a weak acid like lemon juice or vinegar. However, the electronic/display bezel is not water proof. I suspect that some water got into the display, the electronics and display are not sealed. I called Bedol but they don't warranty the clock for problems like this.

I gave this clock to one of my nieces for Christmas. It was easy to get it started and it worked fine. What impressed me and made me chuckle was that during the day, every man in the extended family had to inspect it and see just what made it tick. I thought my niece would like it to use with her students as a teaching tool. I was amazed at how mesmerizing it was for just about every man who saw it. It's a really great gift idea!

BEDOL WATER-POWERED CLOCK,
By VERTIGO "VERTIGO" (DORAL, FL USA) - See all my reviews

It looks great, exactly as the picture in a nice combination of crystal blue & silver. As it works with lemon juice, I don't know if the problem is with my Californian lemons or with the Florida's water, but it works very bad. It turns off very often and I have to constantly refill the lemon juice.
It is hilarious, when suddenly, the water reservoir cover jumps in the air, just as a Champagne cork. The lemon juice ferments and it explodes - Myth Busters go there! It is a great bomb-alarm clock, literally. [...]

Please Use a squirt of lemon in the water!,

Bedol Water-Powered Desktop Clock, Blue
Here's a tip: Fill the Bedol Water Powered Clock's tank with water up to the fill line. Then cut a lemon and squirt some lemon juice into the tank. Shake the clock to mix up the water and lemon mixture. It will work for 4 weeks, 5 weeks or longer before you need to change the mixture. For all of you that were using salt, you may need to use more lemon squirts to get it going at first and get it off of its salt diet!

Good at first...,

You will note that I am the only adult reviewer here who actually owns this. I didn't buy it for someone else. The Bedol clock was great at first. I received it in November, and every couple of weeks, I would change the salt water mixture, as directed. Then about a week ago, which is about 4 months after I received it, the clock stopped working. I took it apart completely, cleaned it thoroughly, added fresh salt water, and put it back together, but it still won't work. I have no idea what to do with it now, as it wouldn't be worth the shipping to send it back to Bedol for repairs, not to mention the cost of repair. It's pathetic, though, since I've had this clock for less than 6 months and it's already broken. I would not recommend this product.

Water Clock,
By
This review is from: Water Powered Clock Round, Charcoal (Kitchen)
Received it last Dec and it only worked for about four days. Went to the routine again a few times and had the same results. After sitting on the dresser collecting dust for ten months, I poured out the water and just for the heck of it, I refilled it with tap water. It's now been six weeks and it's still working. And it hasn't lost or gained a minute.

Gave this as a gift. It was amazing how salt & water started this clock up right away. Only comment was, "Wish it could be an alarm clock."

it never kept time very well and stopped working all together after only a few months. My brother has a water powered clock of a different brand that works perfectly fine. I don't know if it was the clock I had or this brand, but I'm not willing to try again.
