While no one disputes the genious of A R Rahman, I would like to note the contribution and talent of the lyrisit and interpreter of the songs, "Bollywood" playback singing star Sukhwinder Singh. Rahman's songs are only made better when he collaborates with Sukhwinder, and Sukhwinder's incredible vocals always hit a home run. This is great music from a great film. But I still wish I could have a whole hour-long album of Sukhwinder singing Rahman...

This is a wonderful, complex album. It has moments of haunting beauty as well as lively playfullness. It's like a wine you want to keep drinking.

A purely beautiful soundtrack which will make you relive this hauntingly beautiful movie by Deepa Mehta.
I have seen this movie a number of times, taking friends each time to see it. Not one person is not moved by it. I have offered the soundtrack too. Do not hesitate in getting it if you have seen the movie. Superb, both movie and music.

Mychael Danna has assembled a truly exceptional soundtrack, which is free of the limitations of many soundtracks. The pieces flow together beautifully, and there are many songs that are filled with so much beauty that they transport the listener to a time of archetypal, timeless beauty with distinctively Indian classical flavor. This belongs in the library of all lovers of Indian classical music, along with "Sacred Chats of Devi" and "Sacred Chants of Shiva" by Craig Pruess.

Unbelievable soundtrack! Completely balanced sound and wonderfully soulful music with a woeful haunting quality, especially the song "Piya Ho". Play this song in your car on a rainy day or with the lights turned out and candles lit in your home.

Definitely worth the buy.

This is easily one of best albums I have listened. Not much spoken Rahman has rated this album as 10/10 and that reflects in the work. It is a magnanimous effort from Rahman to come up with this mind blowing album.

Beautiful music, this is where the best of Rehman comes together, and Mychael Danna's sounds leave a trembling ache with haunting strains.

The movie is excellent. The soundtrack is awesome. The music still gives me shivers and reminds of scenes from the movie. "Piya Ho" is an absolute heart wrencher.

When I saw the movie I knew immediately I wanted the soundtrack. I researched and bought it as soon as I saw it advertised on Amazon. The CD has not disappointed me, this is excelent music.

If you liked the movie, you'll l-o-v-e the soundtrack. Haunting sounds of the flute, tabla and sitar. Nothing short of wonderful. I purchased the CD for a friend and it made the perfect gift.
