Great Album,

I hate not to give this album 5 stars, but I feel like 5 stars must be saved for, you know, Abbey Road and your stereotypical "classics". Game changers. This is not a game changer.
What it is, for me, is a wake-up call about Sweatshop Union. This album is great. Usually, when you see 23 tracks (which, of course, only happens in the world of hip-hop), you just figure you can throw at least 13 of those in the garbage. Not on this album. A lot of meat and not too many potatoes. This is one of my favorite hip-hop albums of the year. I highly recommend it. It can be a bit too polished in places. I don't know how to describe it. Which isn't to say I haven't listened to this album a ton. Some tracks demand repeat as soon as they are done playing. Great rhyming, really great hooks in the songs. Check it out. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed. With the amount of quality tracks on this album, I'd guess that anyone is going to walk away with at least 10 that they really enjoy.

Live and on CD these guys bring it, if you don't like this album or their music in general, than you don't know real hip hop. Nothing more to say.

Hip Hop is dead my a**!!,
This review is from: Water Street [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
After spending god knows how long on the grind, the sweatshop boys come with
their fourth album, and they haven't disappointed. If NAS thinks hip hop is dead, he hasn't been looking in the right places because it is alive and well in acts like Sweatshop Union. Their blend of Soul,Funk,Jazz, and boom bap on the track combined with uplifting and insightful lyrics (with a touch of cynicism) are not only a breath of fresh air from the C(rap) on the radio, but is what real hip hop is all about. Cop it. Now.
