Well, where do I begin..oh yeah that's right this product is junk! It did not do anything that was mentioned on the item discription, it didn't do anything at all. When I contacted amazon they said that a third party seller was used, which was Hot Tub Warehouse. I contacted them they gave me the run around over the phone and said I had to submit a claim via e-mail. Once I did that, they were very quick to tell me that I could not get my money back on the product that was junk, because it was open and used. Which how in the world could you figure out if a product works or not without using it. I basically spent $80 for nothing. Wow I almost forgot it took almost 3 weeks for me to actually get the vacumn because Hot Tub Warehouse sent it to another woman with the same first name as me in a whole other state, and refused to overnight it to me because it would cost them too much, even though they where the reason for the screw up. In the end they only offered to have the manufacter replace the vacumn, but would not refund my money. So not only is the product horrible so is dealing with HOT TUB WAREHOUSE!

It might be ok if you could turn it off and on. I'm 43 and in decent shape but it's a struggle to turn this thing on and get it to stay on. Once I FINALLY get it on (there is no on/off switch, you have to turn the cap on the back) and it gets wet, the seal on the cap seams to get tighter and I can't get it to turn off. :( It's going back unfortunately. what good is something if you can't turn it on and off?

Should have read other feedback more carefully. Turning the item on and off, especially with wet hands, is entirely too hard.
I never did figure out how to get the finer filter on and then close the thing. Yes, I read the directions but they didn't help any. I also didn't realize that the tool only works if completely submerged and held at exactly the right angle. I intended to use it in a hot tub, so using a pool extension pole will not work. So, does not work at all for my intended use.

My husband has worked his butt off to keep our pool clean. I bought this to make his life easier. He used in for 1/2 hour and said it was junk. I don't have details, he just said it didn't do anything. I'm hoping I can return it.

I picked up one of these at Sam's Club for $99 and though it must do a great job for that price, but it's not that great. I have a 12' x 36' pool so don't need much, but I think I'll be going out looking for something else. First thing you'll find is a cheap wooden screw together poll with plastic connectors that looks like a bunch of crooked sticks put together by some 5 year old. Next is when you put in the water it wants to float so you have to keep downward pressure on it (with those cheap polls it's a pain). Suction doesn't seem that bad for a small area, but it kicks up debris, perhaps partially from the turbulence from the impeller (it just circulates water to suck), when done trying to turn off the unit is very hard (you have to lay it on your knee and twist with a lot of force). When using the filter bag, trying to get on the end is a pain because it doesn't want to fit under the lip unless just right. There is no way this unit would be acceptable in any larger pool. It is durable, I dropped it (just the main unit) on concrete from about 4' when trying to plug it in to recharge and it didn't break. But, really, I can't recommend this, particularly for anyone with a lot of debris or sand.

I wasn't sure about this after reading some of the reviews but decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. We do not have tons of trees around our pool but every now and then we will get some leaves or sand in the bottom. I used to have to lug out the big pool vac. Now I just grab this and in 5 min. I am done spot cleaning. I have not had to use the big vac. all summer.

Powerful Little Sucker!,
I bought the Catfish and have been very pleased with it.
We have a small "simple set-up pool" (about 18' x 4') and wanted something to vacuum it out, but the small pump that came with the pool isn't really powerful enough to do a good job. We had been told by two different pool companies that we were out of luck, when a customer in the pool store recommended the Catfish. It wouldn't be suitable for a major project like opening a pool for a season that's full of leaves, etc. But if you're looking for an inexpensive way to vacuum up sand, small leaves, bugs, and other debris, this really does the job! I did need to find an extension pole with a diameter of about 1 13/16" (which was bigger than the 1 1/16" pole that came with our small pool), but was able to find one at Walmart. Note: For some reason, Amazon has this product listed as a toy (which it's not)!

I have used our Catfish for 2 years now and love it. I would hate not to have it. Just make sure if your planning to purchase it you buy the fine filter which will pick up the sand and smaller debis. If you have alot of leaves you may want to get them out of the pool before you use the catfish. I have not used my regular vacuum all season long I have only used my catfish. I would purchase this again and I am talking my best friend into buying one for herself to make her life easier.
