GL delivers a new concept to an old tale noteworthy of a fictional television documentary. Her descriptions of her characters lend charm and mystery to the history of how vampires have always been perceived. I think Stoker would be well pleased to see this 'new breed'

Water Vamps
G.L Giles has such a creative imagination, which enables her to really turn her mind and pen together, and pull out the most from a character.
The characters in the prologue, Setiana and Vasario, have a dependency on each other which gives them depth, and there's some amusing comedy about one of them turning into a cat, which I loved.
Then we get to the main story, which has 1980's South Carolina as it's setting - this got my attention, as it's unusual and makes for an interesting read. From Chapter 1 the story finds an energy which you cannot put down, and is a nimble read.
The Robin Hood/Maid Marion role-flip is effective, with the author using it as a fun wall to bounce the ball of the story off. Just as in the prologue, Robyn and Marion are charming multi-dimensional characters, giving the target reader plenty to get their vamp 'teeth' into!
The twist on the vampire creatures being water vamps feels fresh and gives the story a lift.
Plenty of imagination on show here. Try reading it in the bath, it is a water vamp of an experience!
The prologue was heavy on exposition, I think it was meant to be though, which gave a thorough introduction, and expectations of more tales of intrigue from these vamp creatures of the water.

In Water Vamps, GL Giles creates a brilliant perspective on vampire species and other sentient creatures that captures the interest of fantasy enthusiasts, regardless of age. Set in the background of one of my favorite cities, Charleston, SC, Robyn and Marion, although unique with special gifts, are simply two adolescents growing up as we all do. Fortunately they have wonderful adult role models to teach them love and tolerance, as well as allowing them to open their minds to the supernatural. I. Want. More.

G.L. Giles is a creative writer with a unique style. In Water Vamps, she creates an original vampire story in the Young Adult genre. The main characters are named Robyn and Marion (from the stories of Robin Hood and Maid Marion). Water Vamps follows the romance between Robyn and Marion. The background of Charleston, South Carolina, adds to this progressive adventure. Many issues for young readers are tastefully handled throughout this story. It is a book I would recommend for all ages.

Original + imaginative story = 5 stars

Im a Huge Fan of G.L. Giles
And this new book doesnt dissapoint Her style Defiantly turns a corner for a vampire novel.

It covers Psychic vamps , Water Vamps Plus The amazing Story Between Robyn and Marion Its rare for a vamp novel to write of a young interracial love story And I love the Robyn Character She is a psychic vamp that robs energy from the bad guy/andgirls and gives back to the good. Marions character is like Maid Marion in that he supports Robyn, He is also on the swampfox of the low country

Theres also the young love lesbian love story between Candace And Molly, You dont see that often in a young adult read.

I give the book five stars its a progressive young adult read plus it has plenty of old world southern charm without being based in New Orleans or Atlanta

this is a must be and Ill def read it again
