WATER everyone needs it. This book traces the events that took place to finalize the Colorado River Compact some forty years in the making, while no bullets were fired there was and still is a war going on. The Colorado River basin includes Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Mexico while not part of the compact is also a user of the water source as is Arizona's Indian Reservations. The politics, bickering and outright hostility between States, US Government, Irrigation districts, Cities and Industry lasted for years and was finely settled in the Supreme Court in 1963.
Major players Arthur Powell Davis, Herbert Hoover, Commissioner's W.S. Norviel for Arizona, W.F McClure for California, Delph E. Carpenter for Colorado, J.G Scrugham for Nevada , Stephen B. Davis for New Mexico, R.E. Caldwell for Utah and Frank C, Emerson for Wyoming who signed the compact in 1922 but not ratified till 1963. Other the players in the saga are well known: Los Angeles Water District, notorious water hustler, Sothern California Edison, Imperial Valley Irrigation,
