1.0 out of 5 stars Love Celtic Music?
Such a beautiful clear voice. Takes you away to the Emerald Isle. Great music to relax with, or simply recharge your soul. (was supposed to show 5 stars!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Music for the Soul, May 10, 2006
This review is from: Water Is Wide (Audio CD)
This is the best, most emotion-provoking music I have heard in all my life. Cad e Sin Don te Sin and Siuil a Run give me goose bumps each time I hear them. I like some of most types of music and have heard music from most parts of the world and "The Water is Wide" touches my soul better than any I have heard. The harp tones and vocal tones are incredibly pure and clear. Most CDs have some recordings on them that are just what I call "fill-ins". On this one, every song is excellent and some are outstanding. I play this CD multiple times each day between my patients and when I am dictating as it is soothing and inspiring at the same time. This is music that makes you feel that there is still something pure and good in this crazy world. You can't help but like this it! Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Traditional Irish Music, January 10, 2006
By
This review is from: Water Is Wide (Audio CD)
Orlagh Fallon is a very talented young artist. She is an accomplished harpist and vocalist. Her CD "The Water is Wide" is a collection of traditional Irish tunes that will certainly send shivers through your body. Orlagh has a very soulful sound and it is very moving to hear her sing. This cd is an accoustical pleasure from beginning to end. Several of the songs are sung in Irish Gaelic, and the rest in english. I highly reccommend this cd to those that enjoy Irish music. I especially reccommend this cd to those that enjoy beautiful music, even if you're not familiar with the traditional Irish fare.

5.0 out of 5 stars SOUL TOUCHING MUSIC, April 19, 2006

Orla's voice is heaven sent. As you listen to her music you are being sung to by an angel. Having seen her perform in Celtic Woman, she out of the all the others in my opinion reaches into your heart. This CD is a have must to any fan of Irish music!! Siuil A Run is my favorite song on here with a totally different arrangement than the one she performs live in Celtic Woman. However, both arrangements are marvelous. You will not ever regret this purchase, and will love every minute she touches your soul with her gift.

4.0 out of 5 stars More Authentic than the others, April 1, 2006

I bought the DVD/CD Celtic Woman last week and a whole new world of music opened up to me.
I was entranced with the Violin by Mairead, and the superb vocals by Meav and Lisa.
Orla (Orlaugh) to me is the most authentic and sings the most traditional songs of the 4 vocalists. Orla also has a wonderful Celtic accent which gives the music a more realistic sound.
Lisa as great as she is tends to sing modern songs. Most of her songs are from movies, such as Lord of the Rings or shows like Riverdance.
Meav is another great singer but she would fall under the same heading.
Orla loads her album with traditional songs. She also sings my favorite, The Water is Wide. Her song selection in my mind is the best of the four vocalists hands down.
You cant go wrong with albums by any of these singers, but if you want the real thing, Orla is the woman.
She is also a superb harp player and her harp playing alone is worth buying this CD..................Enjoy

5.0 out of 5 stars Heavenly, February 17, 2006
This review is from: Water Is Wide (Audio CD)
I first encountered the enchanting Orla on the Celtic Woman DVD where along with Lisa and Meav she performed the finest rendiction of Orinoco Flow that I have ever heard. She is an accomplist vocalist who sings with an intensity and and honesty that is rare today. Orla puts puts her heart and soul into her music. Her Water is Wide CD is a masterpeice of traditional Celtic music. It touches the soul and inspires. Because of Orla and the other ladies of Celtic Woman I have been introduced to a beautiful genre of music. I do not expect to hear sweeter harp music this side of the Pearly Gates. If you love Celtic music then buy this CD you will not be disapppointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, May 28, 2007
This review is from: Water Is Wide (Audio CD)
Celtic Woman is a musical ensemble comprised of five Irish and one New Zealander female artists - five vocalists (including Orla Fallon), and one violinist. This wonderful album is a collection of 11 tracks, all the work of the incomparable Orla Fallon. Orla has won the International Feis Ceoil and International Pan Celtic competitions twice, and this album shows off her ability at its best.

I like having nice music to listen to at work, and this album is one of my favorites. While working, I love the angelic sound of Orla's voice sweeping out of my speakers. Overall, I found this to be a great album, one that is always wonderful to listen to. I give it my highest recommendations!

5.0 out of 5 stars Orla Fallon: The Water is Wide, March 1, 2006
This review is from: Water Is Wide (Audio CD)
This cd is spectacular! Orla's voice is simply enchanting along with her beautiful harp playing. And I love how some songs are in gaelic and some in English; it's a nice mix. This cd takes you to another place and time. If you're a big fan of Loreena McKennit, Enya, or Meav ["Silver Sea" was awesome!] than you will fall in love with Orla's music! It's amazing that it took over a year after this cd was released to reach America, but thank God it's finally here!

Orla Fallon is one of those highly gifted people who you can raise your spirits and at the same time relax you. Her voice is unbelievably lovely, as is her playing of the harp. Put the two togather and you have a CD, you will play over and over. Even small children will love her voice and gentle way of singing.

"The Water Is Wide" by Orla Fallon is a must for all irish music lovers. Orla has a real authentic Irish voice that makes you wish you knew the Galic language. Oh, make sure you have room for your feet to move before listening because you won't be able to stop their movement.
