Enticing and Beautiful, September 11, 2002

Most of the music on this CD is Politzer's original compositions. Her arrangement of the standard "A Foggy Day" is enticing and makes the tune sound like an original. Politzer has strong sense of melody and the trio grooves and interacts beautifully. The title tune and "Woodpecker" are a bit reminiscent of Brad Mehldau's approach but without stooping to imitation. This is a powerful follow up to her debut CD "Yearning" which was more brazillian focused.
