From the Back Cover

Three friends. Three pasts. One journey to beautiful. Serena never thought she'd have children. Now she has two active two-year-old boys. But instead of being overjoyed, she's overwhelmed. Did she make the wrong choice in giving up her successful career to be a stay-at-home mom? Tawana, an ambitious new lawyer, is trying to pull her life together, but her past keeps getting in the way. An incredible opportunity at a prestigious law firm forces her to confront her demons. Can her new responsibilities fit with her growing faith? Erika's estranged and once-abusive husband wants her back. He says he's changed. He's even going to church. But is he telling the truth? Or is he just smooth talking her back into a bad situation? More About the Author

Reading and writing have been as familiar to me as breathing since my elementary school days. After a 14-year stint as a newspaper reporter and columnist, I shifted gears in 2006 to focus on writing books, speaking professionally and freelancing for national publications.
I love creating stories that allow readers to find themselves and people they love on every page. My novels have been known to yield laughter and tears, and to leave readers feeling deeply connected to the multifaceted characters. Ultimately, whether you're reading my fiction or nonfiction, I hope you'll reach the end of something I've written not only feeling thoroughly entertained, but also changed for the better.

4.0 out of 5 stars What Do I Do?, October 17, 2007
This review is from: Watercolored Pearls: A Novel (Paperback)
When was the last time you read something so riveting, tears rolled down your face, leaving you to feel tranquility like you had been washed in the blood of Jesus? Before reading Watercolored Pearls by Stacy Hawkins Adams, I could truly say I do not recall ever having this experience, and if I did...I do not remember it. This I do know, I will remember.

Three friends, going through their own trials and tribulations, get a revelation from a woman of great wisdom, who received her wisdom from another woman. How often can we say that we have been inclined to reach out and touch someone else's life and make a difference?

Serena McDainels, a stay-at-home mother of two year-old twin boys, is a minister's wife. She and her husband, Micah, had to make some changes when he was let go from being the minister of one of the up-and-coming churches in Richmond, Virginia. Though she is a woman of God, Serena fights with her own internal demons. What lesson will she learn when she leaves that weekend?

Ericka Tyler Wilson, a mother and interior designer, stands at the crossroad where old love and new love are the signs marking the road. Trying to decide which way to go, she turns to reading the Bible and praying. But in order to get the answers to her prayers, she has to be willing to listen. What words would be said to her that weekend, which would lead her in the path chosen for her?

Tawana Carter, a young mother and student at Harvard law school, pushes herself to get ahead, but in the wrong ways. When she is offered the chance to intern at a topnotch law firm in Richmond for the summer, she lets one night affect how she thinks of herself. Finally, her past has caught up with her. She has to decide what to do, continue to run from her past or stand up and face it. What does she take away from that weekend with friends?

The Lord places angels in our lives as he sees fit. It may not be when we want it but He is always on time. Stacy Hawkins Adams poured her heart and soul into this book. I have not read any of her other works, but that did not stop me from picking up this one. This book did not miss a beat, and it had me crying and touched my heart to the core. I recommend Watercolored Pearls to everyone, whether you enjoy Christian fiction or not. There is a life lesson that you will learn while reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars By His Grace...., October 1, 2009
This review is from: Watercolored Pearls: A Novel (Paperback)
Watercolored Pearls takes us on a journey of three very different women who share a wonderful history and fantastic friendship. However the journey to where they are now wasn't easy getting there. All three are at crossroads in their life and only God in their friendship can move them forward. Can these women press forward unto the blessings God has in store for them?

Serena prayed that she would become a mother, when God blessed her she had twins. God delivered Erika from her husband and now he's back asking for forgiveness and a second chance. Tawana has finally heard her calling from God but her future is clouded with the past.

The author did a wonderful job telling each characters story and showing the pain, and redemptive powers of God. How His love and mercy can and will sustain us all if you believe. The parable used in the story was an excellent theme to expound on His grace and security in Jesus. Next on my list from the authors Spirit and Soul series is "The Someday List"
