This review is from: The Watercolors of Chet Reneson (Hardcover)
I've long been a fan of Chet Reneson so I was greatly pleased to find this book. His watercolors are simply wonderful. Hetruly is a master at one of the most difficult of mediums. I particularly enjoy his waterfowl works and when I sit and look at one I can actually feel the cold wind and the snow and I can see the birds banking into the decoys... Now that's a painter. I've been there and I know he has been, too! The fishing works are also well done to the point that you can feel the sun and hear the water. He can really take you into the paintings and I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves the best of the sporting world. Robert Abbett's text "ain't too shabby neither!"

This review is from: The Watercolors of Chet Reneson (Hardcover)
I have followed Chet Reneson's work since the 1980's when it would appear in Grays Sporting Journal. Working in watercolor, Mr. Reneson is an aficionado of the sporting life. Watercolor, perhaps more than other mediums, has the capacity for capturing feeling and mood. In my view, Mr. Reneson captures the mood of hunting and fishing and the truly beautiful places these pursuits are carried on better than anyone else. When you can't be casting a rod or sitting in a duck blind, you can look at this book and find transport to places of beauty and pursuits of good purpose.
