All natural.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Waterfall (Audio CD)
This recording is the one to sleep by. Brahms and Beethoven are hard to beat, but this waterfall recording taped by Dr. Toby Mountain is my most often played CD. I used to live by a busy corner with lots of traffic noise. This CD helped drown out the dissonance of the city. Now I live with two babies, and the waterfall's lullaby is still washing away the stress. Unlike many environmental CDs, this one has no obnoxious editing or mixing, and no schmaltzy musaque added. The sounds are like the ones you would really hear if you were camping in the forest.

I live in a noisy neighborhood. There are too many people doing too many things late at night. This CD works pretty well for blotting out the neighbors. It's not just the hiss of a waterfall -- they must have had the microphone close to the water, as you can hear lots of other watery sounds. There's an occasional bird, which tends to wake our baby up a bit. Also, the sound starts and stops pretty abruptly, which often wakes me up momentarily when I have it on repeat. My favorite white noise is the rain CD in the Week in Hawaii series.

Relaxation at it's best!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Waterfall (Audio CD)
I bought this CD for my husband a couple of years ago. It was so relaxing, we would fall asleep to it. Now we're expecting our first baby in October and I definately plan on playing it, not only for the baby but for me as well!

Relax to the Max,

This CD is the ultimate in relaxation soundtracks. I play it loud & close my eyes, and all the stress of the world goes away. This is just the sound of a rushing waterfall, no music, no other background sounds (like birds, crickets, etc.) that I could detect. I'm afraid to play it in my car, as it might induce drifting off the side of the road. I just love it!

Too many birds to sleep to,

This product did not help me get a good night's sleep. The occasional bird calls were just too distracting for me. From other reviews it sounded like there were only a couple and I thought I could tolerate that, but it was much more than a couple. I would return it, but the packaging is open. The sound quality though is very good, it's crisp and clear.

IN MY OPINION, THE BEST ENVIRONMENT / NATURE CD EVER,
By A Customer
This review is from: Waterfall (Audio CD)
I currently have a collection of a number of environment / nature cds. I personally prefer them without added music, and without subliminal information, just pure nature sounds. WATERFALL: A WEEK IN HAWAII is, without a doubt, my very favorite environment / nature CD. The recording of this particular waterfall in Hawaii is very soothing and relaxing. Dr. Toby Mountain did a superb job. When I am at the library, or anywhere for that matter, I carry a cd player with headphones in my briefcase or backpack, along with my WATERFALL CD. This combination makes the perfect sound machine. I am able to read with talking going on in the background. When I'm writing on the computer, I listen to this cd, just as I am doing right now. I never seem to tire of it.If you have difficulty relaxing or sleeping, this album may very well help. If you're looking for the ultimate in aural relaxation, I believe that WATERFALL: A WEEK IN HAWAII is an excellent choice. I hope that the producer of this album never stops making it. Without reservation, I rate this work a perfect 5 stars. Also Recommended: RAIN IN THE COUNTRY, THE PSYCHOLOGICALLY ULTIMATE SEASHORE, SOUNDS OF THUNDER BY THE SEA, and RELAXING WITH NATURE: OCEAN SURF/SAILING.

Running water,
By Atheen M. Wilson "Atheen" (Mpls, MN United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)

I love the sound of running water, espcially that of a thunderstorm or the ocean surf. "Waterful, a Week in Hawaii," seemed to fit that bill, but I find it to be a little on the monotonous side. Although the sound quality is not bad, at a volume loud enough to distinguish it from a "TV on a blank channel," (according to my husband,) it is very intrusive. It's difficult to just lay back and relax with a book or day dream. In fact I find I'm usually planning my next trip to the bathroom, rather than my next vacation to Waikiki.
