This is one of the most informative books available for someone wanting to know about the waterfalls of the Smokies. It breaks down each waterfall by location. It has detailed maps and what to expect on the trail. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys waterfalls.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only book I needed, October 22, 2010

Great book! We had never been to Gatlinburg before and went with the purpose of stomping thru the woods finding waterfalls. This book broke down Gatlinburg (and all the areas around) it so we could pick and choose where we went. We only had 1 day to look for waterfalls so this was a great help. The directions were excellant. We found all the waterfalls we were looking for without any problem. The description of the falls was also very helpful. This book tells you how long each hike to a waterfall is and the difficulty level. Since we were on such a tight schedule this was very important. I was torn between buying this book and another one for our trip. I made the right choice by choosing this one. Again, this book doesn't just cover Gatlinburg. Also has Big Creek, Cosby, Townsend, Cades Cove, Clingmans Dome, Cherokee and Fontana. We are planning another longer trip in the future to see more waterfalls and I will be using this handy little book again)

I had limited time in the park and the book was useful in determining which of the falls to walk to and the type of trail to the falls.
