Nash and Hughes provide detailed instructions on how to construct waterfalls, fountains, pools, and streams of various sizes, some of which require a large lot and others only a very small space. There is information on basic installation, pump selection, plumbing, fountain accessories and maintenance, and all materials and tools required. An appendix lists 37 plants suitable for stream gardens, giving their growth habits, flowering times, and hardiness. Some of the larger projects would be rather difficult for average gardeners, and the authors suggest that it would be feasible for them to hire a qualified contractor or landscape architect.
