4.0 out of 5 stars Restful and Soothing
I bought this DVD because I needed something that is calming and restful and which also plays on a continuous loop, so that I can I have it playing while I sleep or read in bed. I live on a very busy street, and I can hear the traffic outside pretty much anywhere in my house. The only time that there is complete quietness is between the hours of 2 and 4 A.M. City buses...

3.0 out of 5 stars Just Waterfalls - a little boring.
I work from home and bought this thinking that there might be a little more activity (animals, birds, something...) to go w/the waterfalls. The 4 scenes aren't bad, but honestly are boring and somewhat static. I'm finding that the sound quality of the water after about 2 minutes is more annoying than soothing. I am a little disappointed and actually fear plasma burn in...

4.0 out of 5 stars Restful and Soothing, April 4, 2007
This review is from: Waterfalls: Soothing Waters (DVD)
I bought this DVD because I needed something that is calming and restful and which also plays on a continuous loop, so that I can I have it playing while I sleep or read in bed. I live on a very busy street, and I can hear the traffic outside pretty much anywhere in my house. The only time that there is complete quietness is between the hours of 2 and 4 A.M. City buses start at 4 and pass by every 15 minutes, and there is a stop right on the opposite side of the street to my house. The daily garbage trucks come around at 5 A.M. and I can actually feel the vibrations caused by the trucks even while I'm in bed.

I wear ear plugs, have a sound machine right by my bed, and play either this DVD (at top volume) or a similar one. This DVD has several different waterfalls to choose from. You can also choose to have just the natural waterfall sound (which is what I like) or ambient music. I also have and like the Waves Virtual Vacations Caribbean Beaches. The reason I rated it a 4 is because I would have rather it be set up like the Waves DVD in that the continuous loop shows all of the different beaches. Both DVDs would be even better if there was a choice between seeing the whole DVD on a continuous loop and also one setting on a continuous loop. It's good to be given many choices so that one does not grow bored with the DVD!
