An excellent book addressing modern waterfowling and ethics.,

Jason and Christopher Smith have filled a much needed void in the area of hunting literature. This book is written for the new waterfowler, though seasoned veterans will benefit from its content. The book addresses many aspects of modern waterfowling in a consise and readable manner. Personal experience and knowledge add to the credibility of this publication. Most of all it touches two topics of greatest importance to today's waterfowler: ethics and biology. It is very important that we take the time to understand the basic biology about of the game they pursue, it makes us better hunters and sportsmen. Hunter ethics is the most important subject in this book, and it strongly stresses the benefits and virtues of taking game cleanly and at close range. WATERFOWLING HORIZONS should make any waterfowl better by increasing the amount of birds in the bag and reminding us of what is really important about the sport and lifestyle of waterfowl hunting.

A real tear-jerker,

I cried when I began reading the book, and then realized how much money I spent. The book is incredibly boring. Certain aspects of population numbers are repeated into the groud. Nothing I saw (although I didn't finish the book) was very interesting, and I didn't learn a thing that might have improved my hunting ability. And althogh it has a very nice cover, WATERFOWLING HORIZONS wouldn't make a nice coffee table book. The inside pictures are small and lacking clarity not to mention they're black and white.

This book is very informative, even for experienced duck and goose hunters. The section on dogs was especially good.

I was disappointed at how little information was added to the world of waterfowling with this book. Nothing new was in the book, except perhaps a little new product information by virtue of elapsed years. The authors gave no impression that I was learning from anyone of experience. There was no perspective between past, present, or, as the title suggests, the future. |
