My husband and I did a lot of shopping around for tool chests. We looked at several at Sears, Lowes, and Home Depot before deciding to buy this one from Amazon. The chests at the other places which were at comparable prices to this one were not as high quality. They were more rickety and had no ball bearings. We are very happy with this tool chest.

For some odd reason, my girlfriend begged me for a roll-around metal tool cabinet for Christmas so I bought her the Waterloo. Predictably, it sat in my shop for 14 months before I begged her to take it home. So I had a chance to use it for a while.

It's a well-constructed cabinet and much nicer and more durable than my five-foot Craftsman cabinet (which she gave me for a house warming present in 1999). The large casters roll better than the smaller ones on my Craftsman and the drawer slides feel more substantial.

This is a HEAVY cabinet so you don't want to be moving it from job site to job site. But for a shop, it's terrific.

This is a great tool cabinet at this price point. If you want to use it everyday and keep a lot of heavy item in the drawers, you will want a more expensive model. At this price this one is hard to beat. My waterloo tool chest fits perfect on top of this cabinet.

Item arrived with some dents and scratches, due to how it was shipped. It ships with the drawers and guides installed, and the jostling during shipping caused the tracks to detach (they're just slide-in notches, not riveted or bolted on) and this caused drawer damage. They should be shipped with the tracks and drawers detached and wrapped. Can do it: they'd all fit in the cabinet this way. Assembly is very easy with the handle and casters attached via large sheet metal screws (I question durability, would rather these are bolted).

As for the tracks, there should be an option to rivet them in but there isn't.

Once assembled, the unit is reasonably sturdy, the drawers glide reasonably well, and a defect is the sharp edges to the drawer pulls. I'll be filing those down. That should be easy to finish properly at manufacture: throw them on a grinder for 5 seconds and you're done. Silly that they'd tolerate that level of finish.

The drawers have no liners but I picked some up and installed along with dividers.

All in all, quality is probably mid-grade, sturdy enough for my garage/hobbyist use. On the basis of this experience I also ordered the unit that sits on top, as the product is satisfactory and fits my needs. If I were a pro I would probably be moving to something with a higher probability of future utility and durability.

One last comment: item arrived in about 20 days, having been shipped via freight due to size/weight. But, it didn't actually ship for about 16 days, with really no update from the retailer until it shipped. Would have appreciated some heads-up at the time of purchase that shipping wouldn't occur for more than 2 weeks.

This product has held up well, and I would buy one again.

This is the best value for the money - hands down - beats paying for overpriced craftsman tool chests.

the product is perfect, a great tool box. a little disappointed in the delivery, there was some assembly required, the drawers were installed but not properly and at first, I did not think they worked, but after further investigation, it was just not properly installed and now works perfectly. the edges are sharp, beware of handling. all in all, a great tool box.

I am completely satisfied with this item, as well as the companion tool chest.
