5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Quality Pen - Great Value, November 18, 2004
I have used this pen for the last 6 years. I think I bought it when they first came out. The way it feels in your hand, the way it smoothly glides on the paper, ANY kind of paper. I highly recommend this pen as the first purchase or gift purchase. It is a great starter pen for a fountain pen collection. You will never regret the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great pen for the money, May 25, 2007
I agree 110% with the other reviewer: This is an excellent buy for the money. I've had one since 1998 and it still works like a charm. I also bought some Levenger pens that cost far more. Unlike those, ink never dries in this one, it rarely has a "cold start" problem, and does not leak. This pen reminds me of that "last and lasts" commercial for energizer batteries. The pen comes with a converter in the box, although the product description is not clear about that. I've been using mine with Noodler's ink (brewed in NYC) and would highly recommend trying that combination. My unit is made in France; I presume they still are. Thank God those French can at least do something right! Overall, excellent buy. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Phileas, Blue Medium Point, December 25, 2008
This review is from: Waterman Phileas Blue Medium Point Fountain Pen - 19702WB (Office Product)
When I first got this pen, I thought the line was a little too broad for my taste. But, it has really grown on me. This is my favorite pen, it looks fantastic, gets a lot of compliments, and lays down a really nice line.

I highly recommend using the converter and Noodler's bulletproof ink. It doesn't feather or smear.

The nip on the pen is smooth. No skipping or cold starting. Writes fine on most papers. I noticed it had a little difficulty on super high gloss Greeting Cards, but other than that, a really fine pen at a great price.

Recommended!
