Product Description

The Moon & Stars Watermelon gets its name from the decorative look of the melons. The melons have a deep green skin with yellow spots that vary in size (which seem to resemble a moon and stars). This is an extremely sweet, Amish heirloom variety. This certified organic seed comes in a 900 milligram seed package.

The melons I got from this plant were NOT pear shaped like the picture indicates. Instead they were more like a bowling ball. The skin is very dark green with bright yellow spots. At the very least it is interesting. I found the flesh to be sweet and juicy. They are smaller then the standard watermellon. For me, the "ripe" product was somewhat anemic in color AND flavor.

Very good germinating level, over 90%. A personal advice though, it's very important to plant them in the correct position, the pic should go down, where the embrio of the plant is and the round part up where the first two leaves are going to be.
The embrio detaches eassy from the leaves, so either you peal before planting, which is very hard and you will probably kill the plant, or you let it grow enough so if you want to help pealing the plant is only a soft push out. Don't try to peal as soon as it germinates, it's a difficult task that finishes with the split in 2 of the plant, the embrio detaches and is not able to regrowth.
In simillar seeds like cucmberg it is very easy to help the plant grow removing the peal as soon as it germinates or sunflowers which you can peal immediately if you want.
Still the product is grreat and this watermelon is amazing, way better than the ones you find in store.

The seeds arrived very fast and we are pleased. They are already popping up in the garden and can't wait to see the fruit.

The seeds came when they said they would, Happy with my order. Though I wont grow them until late spring, so I will not know the outcome until then.
