Having seen Marcia at Antone's many times, let me tell you , this lady epitomizes the texas/louisana style of blues. She can bring down the house...

Don't let the beginning of the song throw you off... listen to the whole thing. Marcia Ball just loves to sing and loves her food. The jazz beats picks up very nicely about half way through where we are treated to some piano and sax solos. I have never heard anyone describe watermelon so well either. If you love southern jazz, this is a must download song for summer fun.

This is such a fun song. You can't help but bee-bop to the music. (And what a treat that it's free.) This is the first time I've heard Marcia Ball. She's now on my radar.

I found this free MP3 and downloaded it. What a fun song! I'm guessing if you are holding a dance, block party, or any type of shindig and put this song on... people will jump up and boogie.

I've seen Marcia Ball play at the Fitzgerald's 4th of July show up in Chicago. She puts on a great show!

It sounds like Marcia is having fun playing & singing this song. I get caught up in that mood every time I hear it. Get the gumbo and crawfish cooking and the Cajun party started!
