3.0 out of 5 stars nice rainfall shower, but wimpy 'pulsating' massage
If the massage feature is important to you, you won't be happy with this shower head.
It has a pretty good rainfall type shower and it's nice to have the option to switch to a center spray. But, the 'pulsating' massage feature is pretty wimpy. It's not nearly as good as other WaterPik shower heads that I've used. I removed the flow restricter from the shower head...

It's not nearly as good as other WaterPik shower heads that I've used. I removed the flow restricter from the shower head and that didn't help much.

The shower head is lightweight plastic with a metal-like coating.
The adjustable extension arm and associated hardware is very good quality chrome plated solid brass. (That's why I gave it 3 stars).
I am now using my old Moen shower head with the WaterPik extension arm.

However, the fact that the shower head is made of plastic keeps the water hot. I've noticed a significant difference in the temperature of my morning shows! I recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'd like it to "hang" higher; otherwise, an excellent showerhead, August 22, 2007
This review is from: Waterpik AquaScape 8-Mode Showerhead with Adjustable Arm, Brushed Nickel #ASD-839 (Tools & Hardware)
4.5 stars

The "pulsating rainfall" that this advertises is just what it claims to be; to offset that, however, the pulsating massages aren't that pulsating. However, if you're shaving in the shower and want to make sure that your razor is rinsed clean, choose the massage while you're shaving. You will have one mighty clean razor. Really - I'm not looking to get a massage from my shower head, so I don't see this as a terrible downfall.

I mostly use the pulsating rainfall. It doesn't exactly feel like you're being rained on, but I imagine it's as close as you'll get without special effects teams.

My main complaint would be that I'm 6'1", and I clear this by about two inches. I'd like a little more room between the shower head and myself. This was an upgrade from their Cascadia line, and it seems that I had five or six inches with that shower head. Still, I'm much happier with this shower head than my old one.

Overall, the brushed nickel looks *great*, and while I don't use all of the different settings, I'm happy with the ones I do use.

4.0 out of 5 stars A little overwhelming for a smaller shower, August 6, 2007

This review is from: Waterpik AquaScape 8-Mode Showerhead with Adjustable Arm, Brushed Nickel #ASD-839 (Tools & Hardware)
Here's the scoop - Wife loves this showerhead, I don't like it. I don't hate it either. If you are putting this into a 30" or 36" shower then you might want to reconsider. I put this into a 36" shower and it is overwhelming. It is so big that you could practically drown under it. It would be better in a 48" or 60" shower. My wife like the thing so looks like we are keeping it.

On the plus side, it is very adjustable and easy to adjust. I like the pulsating rain shower setting. The showerhead swivels easy. The double jointed shower arm leaks at the lower joint and I can't get it to stop no matter how I tighten it. Seems like a poor design at that point. No worries because it drips only slightly into the shower and won't hurt anything.

Showerhead looks great. Nice looking brushed nickel finish.

1.0 out of 5 stars VERY poorly made, February 6, 2008
My wife has been wanting a rainshower showerhead, so I picked one of these up. Had to return the first 2, neither one would thread the shower head onto the arm, the threading was WAY off, even with a pair of wrenches. Finally got a 3rd one which would thread fine, was excited to try it only to find it leaks water all over the place. Around the setting ring, at both the arm joints, water drips and sprays all over. Mind you, I've done a lot of plumbing work, I know how to hook up a shower head, it's just so poorly built, bad quality. Finally, the rain shower is just OK, even with the flow limiter off, and the center spray doesn't deliver enough water hard enough to get the shampoo out of my hair. The massage settings are lame. Even without all the problems, I'd still only give it 2 or 3 stars, there are MUCH better shower heads out there, and certainly MUCH better built. The Cascadia CF201 has a MUCH nicer rain shower and center spray, even though it is plastic, and doesn't look as nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install. Downpour is awesome., December 2, 2007

This installed in minutes. Just a matter of unscrewing the previous showerhead, screwing this one on (with a wrench), then adjusting the height and spray angle.

The various spray options work well, but like most people, you'll probably pick one that you prefer such as the downpour since that's what this type of showerhead does best. It works very well for this.

1.0 out of 5 stars POOR QUALITY AND DESIGN, March 17, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
not the best shower head you'll ever use so save the cash. Waterpik makes better than this, i bought this because ive use their flexible shower head for over 7 years and thought this would be a step up but its not. The arm design is extremely flimsy as well as the 2 areas you adjust the height and pitch to move the arm and head are really super flimsy. The pressure is not that great vs. the regular shower head i had and nothing compare to the flexible shower head which you can ALSO position to the same rain style position over your head. My advice, pass on this one and if you really want a cool shower head check out the waterpik Linea 6-Mode Showerhead on amazon, its half the price and much better than this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dismal water output, January 20, 2009
Our water pressure is acceptable, but couldn't adequately drive the water out of this showerhead. We could only get two of the eight modes to work: the centre jets and entire showerhead. And a tricle of water from each mode as well.

We may have purchased a defective unit, but either way I returned it and purchased the Waterpik AquaScape oval showerhead instead. Very glad I did!

4.0 out of 5 stars This Waterpik product is near excellent !!, January 13, 2008

I bought this From Amazon when it was 54 bucks with free shipping. Near excellent product from Waterpik. The settings are great and the " Rainfall " setting with the inner pulse/ massage setting is, in my opinion, the best ! The only bad thing I can say about this is that it is hard to change the settings.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome rainfall shower, one catch, May 7, 2011
By
This is a piece of cake to install, and I love the adjustable arm that extends the shower head more to the center of the tub. I find that I am standing more central in the tub area now, which I like.

The only thing that keeps this from the 5th star is the adjusting ring around the shower head for the different modes. Honestly, I just keep the thing in rainfall mode, I never see myself moving it to the other water effects. The ring goes the entire way around the shower head and is pretty cheap-feeling. It is awkward to adjust, since you hold it on one side and turn on the other, often holding exactly what you need to turn. If you are like me and just want the rainfall shower setting, this is not a problem once you find that setting. However, since some people must switch this thing around, there is your catch.

I also took out the water-saver. I hate those things.

Bottom line: great shower head, easy to install (as all shower heads are - it's not rocket science, folks), the mode selector ring could use some work.
