Great water flow for the price...,

I bought this to replace a fixed "builder standard" fixture in a guest bathroom that had poor water flow. I have to admit, I'm quite surprised by the performance of this unit. At this price point, I wasn't sure what I was getting, but the waterflow is great. Not quite as strong as my pricey Kohlers in my master bath, but no surprise there.
Couple of things to note: 1) this unit was quick and easy to install - it took me less than 10 minutes -including removal of my fixed shower head. 2) it is not made of brass or metal - it appears to be some type of chrome plated plastic, and it is light in weight - doesn't feel as substantial as more expensive units. 3) You do not want to use any tools during installation (when you feel the unit, you'll know why)- I made all "hand tight" connections and have no leaks. 4) Take care when placing the handheld into its cradle. Mine slipped from my hand during installation, went sailing down and crashed into the tiled wall below. No damage to the unit, but I don't think it would withstand that kind of impact on a regular basis. In the shower, it stays in the cradle just fine. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. Only rated 4 stars because the massage and pulsing water flow options are marginal.

The best!,

I tried 3 different shower heads to replace my old one... this was by far the BEST.... the water pressure is really strong and all the different settings are great.

Both my husband and I like this shower head, especially compared to a standard head. I like the hose and it is just about long enough. We were able to find a spray adjustment we both like. Could have been five stars but I don't have much to compare it to.

I wanted a handheld shower head to wash the family dog. I did want good pressure, I do have good water pressure generally.
I found out that 1. Handheld showerheads have naturally reduced pressure than regular showerheads (simple?) 2. No matter how many 'settings' a shower head has and fancy names, only the full and one of the massage settings do work. With this showerhead, the pressure was below par, much less than the original Walter Pik. The massage setting produced poor quality stream, (showerhead might have been defective-I returned to Amazon thank you!) and got a refund. It is an adequate hand held shower head but nothing more than that.

This product, even after you remove the flow restricters, does not perform as strongly as the old one. I am now looking for the original version. I would not recommend this product if you are looking for strong pulse action.

This showerhead gets the job done fairly well. The pressure could be better...but it's not bad either. The picture is misleading...the picture shows a metal hose but the hose is plastic.
Over all this showerhead is pretty good for the price.

I bought two of these based on other reviews, but when I got them, they were cheap plastic and I could not tighten the fitting without breaking the plastic--and it leaked! The picture made it look like it had chrome pipe connections, but it didn't. I can't even speak to the shower settings because it leaked so much, we had to take it down and put up the old shower head again. At least the Amazon return process was really, really easy and efficient! I ended up going to Lowe's and buying Moen handheld showers. What a disappointment!

"Anxiety" is my middle name, but I defy anyone to stand under the Waterpik NSL 653 Linea handheld shower and not immediately feel awash in calmness under its gentle flood of warm water. I once poo-pooed "how to relax" advice of envisioning yourself showering under a tropical waterfall. "Yeah, sure... what kind of shower head do you have?!" Well, maybe they had the Waterpik NSL 653 Linea! I highly recommend it whether or not you need serious soothing.
June 25, '09 -- After enjoying the shower head for a month, I have additional happy observations: With the regulators removed (instructions were included) we get only water instead of water and air pressure. We have softened water and shampoo rinses away much faster now, saving shower time and water. And the mix of hot and cold water can be much cooler with no air mixed in, thereby saving energy. This shower head provides a totally superior experience. |
