The motel I stayed at for three nights had this showerhead and I really liked it. As soon as I got home I ordered it and installed it. It has six modes of which I use three every time I shower. Great showerhead, highly recommend.

Over the past 10 year, this is the second one of this type of showerhead I've purchased, and I love it. Granted, you have to have a shower pipe that is the right height for you because there are limitations on how this turns; however, that is true with any showerhead.
I do have three recommendations for the user: 1) When you go to change the settings, use both hands: one to hold it and the other to turn the knob. This just makes sense when using anything where one portion remains stationary and another portion turns. 2) Use some of the plumbers tape around the pipe end before you screw this on. With all the movement, this helps to keep the connection tight. 3) Take it off occasionally and dip it in some vinegar and a drop of bleach to remove the hard water deposits (or clay residue since I live in the south) as well as sanitize it (to avoid any mold). As a side note, if you ever use this in a hotel, condo, etc. and find that it doesn't work, don't consider this to be a bad product. People abuse items in those locations and I'm guessing 75% of the time something won't work right because of the overuse or incorrect usage.

This is an excellent shower head. It is very easy to install. Simply screw it in to the shower arm and you're ready to go.

This shower head is easy to install. You just take it out of the box, screw it on by hand, and you're ready to go. So I thought. I installed it and NO WATER AT ALL came out of the shower head. I tried changing every setting on it and still nothing. I took the shower head off and read the directions on the inside of the package and it said you can get more performance out of it by unscrewing and removing the restrictor. So I unscrewed it and removed it and re-installed the shower head and WOW! I haven't gotten that much pressure from that shower EVER! I can actually feel the water pressure on my skin and it feels like I'm rinsed better and my hair is rinsed cleaner. I love it!!! Not sure why nothing came out when I first tried it but I recommend taking the restrictor out and enjoying some serious water pressure!

This was the best upgrade you can get to an old show head *replace it*. It was easy to install and use, my only concern is I will now increase my water bill by spending too long in the shower.

I bought this after reading several positive online reviews and noting that it has a lifetime warranty.
Upon opening the package, I was struck by how cheap the construction looked -- it looked like chrome plated cheap plastic. After installing it, I was severely disappointed by the lack of massaging. None of the modes produce much power -- at most, they feel like someone lightly tapping your back with their fingers. It does have the ability to remove the water saver valve, but I don't want to do that since I would then be using considerably more water. I tried to contact the manufacturer to see if I had a defective unit that could be replaced under the lifetime warranty, but they only provide a "snail mail" address. Had I bought this product locally, I would have returned it. But Amazon's return policy says it is for unopened/unused products, so I guess I am stuck with it. This is one product I would recommend NOT buying via mail order. Go look at it in a local store, and verify that you can return it if it doesn't meet your expectations.

FOR THE PRICE, I DON'T THINK YOU CAN FIND A BETTER SHOWERHEAD. CLEAN LOOK, STRAIGHT FORWARD OPERATION, EASY INSTALL & "EXCELLENT" WATER FLOW (THANKS TO GREGORY'S POST ABOUT REMOVING THE RESTRICTOR). YOU NEED THE RIGHT PICK TOOL TO REMOVE THE RESTRICTOR, BUT WHAT A DIFFERENCE. OK, I'M HEADED BACK TO THE SHOWER.

It took longer to get this shower head out of the packaging than it to install it. My old shower head was off and this one on in 5 minutes or less. I did remove the flow regulator before installing it.
I disagree with those who think it looks cheap. In my opinion it is comparable in quality to most other mid-quality shower heads. It is not made of solid brass as proven by the weight. If that's what you're expecting you'll be disappointed. I did NOT want to get out of the shower this morning. If you have tension headaches you will love this! It's great on neck & shoulder muscles/tendons, too. I had no problem turning it/changing the spray mode with one hand. I have the feeling it's going to save me some chiropractor bills.

Great Upgrade,
This review is from: Waterpik SM 623 Original 6-Mode Massage Showerhead, Chrome (Tools & Hardware)
I replaced a standard, mediocre head with this one, hoping to put some zing in my shower. What a difference! Excellent pressure and the massage features work great. Ridiculously easy to install, (no tools or tape) it actually took longer to get it out of the plastic bubble packaging than it did to hook up. Screw it on by hand and turn on the water...that's it. I looked to remove the water restrictor but there didn't seem to be one so I put back the internal filter and installed it as is. MUCH more powerful than the head that was previously there. Though it's plastic, I can't see any reason it won't last for a long time. For the price, it's a great deal and a great upgrade.

This is my 3rd Shower Massage in 20 years. It's a good product and, candidly, I don't understand the issue about chrome vs plastic. I'm not using the darn thing as a hammer! It's a good quality product for a very reasonable price. If it wears out, I'll get another one. That's not exactly "green", but it works for me. Each of the previous units have lasted for years. I currently live in the country and have well water. That causes more build-up on shower heads and my last chrome unit practically disolved. I'm thinking this will do at least as well as that.
It was very easy to install. Actually, I just hand tightened it and there was no leakage. I did do a final tighten with a wrench, for good measure. My husband told me that, from opening the package to having it up and running, installation took about 6 minutes - and that included taking off the old shower head. So, for about $20 it a darn good product and I recommend it.... |
