5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
We were on vacation on Miami Beach and got to try this showerhead in the common area for the pool - much better than most since the Government mandated lower flow rates. Most won't even let you wash the soap off without having to scrub it off.

water sprayed out to the side on several spray settings. also water dripped down from bottom nozzles instead of spraying out on some spray settings. don't feel that this showerhead was designed or assembled properly. Cheaply made out of plastic. This showerhead was made in China. What isn't made in China these days?
I returned it to Amazon

We were on vacation on Miami Beach and got to try this showerhead in the common area for the pool - much better than most since the Government mandated lower flow rates. Most won't even let you wash the soap off without having to scrub it off.

Thinking if a five-way head was good, six would be better, I tried the Waterpik SM 623 Original 6-Mode Massage Showerhead first ... same company, pretty much same settings - the massage worked well, but the two other settings that spray, one didn't have enough pressure, the other was so narrow you could not get ALL of you wet at one time - sent it back, ordered this one.

The massage is worthless on this one, and as others commented, so is misting. However - the reason we bought it, you can actually take a decent shower under it. Lots of pressure once you remove the screen (as suggested by the instructions). I also removed the 0-ring in the little recess behind that screen - used a dental pick, but you probably could use a paperclip bent with pliers to do it too.

With the one regular shower setting, there is plenty of pressure - in fact, you need to turn down the water a bit or the force actually stings a little! Now, instead of 1/2 to one hour showers trying to get the soap off, you can go back to 5 minutes ... doesn't matter a bit that only the one setting works, it's what we bought it for!

Highly recommended - provided you remove the screen and O-ring. Note also, it doesn't come with Teflon tape - so even though the instructions say you don't need it, I did use it, and must also suggest you get you a roll (dollar or two at WallyWorld) and use it when installing.

We will be purchasing a couple more later - one for the other bath, and a spare.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, May 10, 2007

Nice shower head. It's very forceful and gives off great water pressure.
The only downside is it feels a little cheap and it can be hard to adjust the settings especially if your hands are wet.
But all and all, this shower head is one of the best I've ever had.
You won't regret getting it at all.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as older units, March 6, 2009

I have two older WaterPik shower heads which I love. I really like the misting function of the ones I have. They do fail after about 2 years - although I imagine folks with hard water would do worse. I have just gotten into routinely replacing. This time there were new models. The "old" misting mode is really a fine mist, almost fog. Individual droplets too small to see. The "new" one just sprays water small droplets over a 90 degree cone getting water up and over the shower curtain. For those who would know what I mean, the droplets are about a microliter. Gets the floor outside the shower wet. Not good.

For me, this was a fatal flaw.

1.0 out of 5 stars Weak, February 21, 2012

Bought this to replace my 1988 Shower Massage head. What a mess. Good on full spray only. Massage settings are a joke, even with the restrictor removed. I am returning this thing immediately.

5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT WONDERFUL SHOWERS I NOW HAVE. WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG?, December 22, 2011

I DECIDED I MUST FINALLY REPLACE MY CORRODING PRE-WATER SAVING ERA SHOWER HEAD BUT FEARED IT WOULD TAKE FOREVER TO GET HOT WATER (MY WATER HEATER IS AT THE FAR END OF MY HOME) PLUS I LIKE A ROBUST SHOWER. I PAID A FEW BUCKS MORE THAN AT AMAZON.COM IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO FIND ONE THAT SAID THE FLOW RESTRICTING DEVICE COULD BE REMOVED. THE 5-MODE WATERPIK SAID JUST THAT ON THE PACKAGE: "FOR LOW WATER PRESSURE" (HEH HEH).

IT WASN'T THAT EASY TO GET THE LITTLE THINGIE OUT (SOMEONE SUGGESTED A DENTIST PICK) BUT I FINALLY SUCCEEDED. BY THE WAY ANOTHER WRITER ALSO GOT RID OF THE WHITE SCREW-IN FILTER, A BAD DECISION SINCE IT IS EASIER TO RINSE OUT A FILTER THAN UNCLOG A SHOWERHEAD THAT DOESN'T COME APART.

SO WITH RESTRICTING DEVICE REMOVED I INSTALLED MY WATERPIK TRS-529(S) AND GOT IN THE SHOWER FOR A TEST DRIVE. TO MY SURPRISE THE WATER WAS MUCH STRONGER THAN WITH THE OLD SHOWERHEAD AND, I BELIEVE, THE HOT WATER CAME THROUGH FASTER. I ACTUALLY HAD TO BACK DOWN FROM MAXIMUM WATER FORCE (WHICH WASN'T THE CASE WITH THE OLD SHOWERHEAD). HOW FOOLISH I WAS TO BELIEVE THE EPA WOULD FORCE AMERICANS TO TAKE LESS ENJOYABLE SHOWERS! (I STILL HAVE MY WATER GULPING BRIGGS TOILETS FOR WHICH PARTS NO LONGER ARE AVAILABLE AND SOME IMPROVISATIONS TO THE ELDERLY FLUSH MECHANISMS HAVE HAD TO BE MADE.)

NOW FOR SPECIFICS ON THE FIVE SPRAY SETTINGS: THE FULL BODY SPRAY OF COURSE IS THE BEST CHOICE FOR SHOWERING. ANOTHER REVIEWER COMPLAINED THE SPRAY WAS TOO NARROW WHICH MAY BE NIT PICKING. I DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM; EXTRA WIDE BODIED USERS CAN MOVE THEIR YOU-KNOW-WHATS A FEW INCHES TO GET FULL COVERAGE OR BUY THE HAND-HELD MODEL. THE MISTING SETTING WAS A VERY PLEASANT (AND VERY WIDE SPRAY) SURPRISE. TURN UP THE HEAT AND YOU ALMOST GET A STEAM BATH. AS FOR THE THREE ASSORTED "MASSAGE" SETTINGS, THEY DIDN'T IMPRESS ME AND WON'T FEEL ANYTHING LIKE A MASSEUSE -- PROBABLY A MARKETING PLOY TO MATCH COMPETITIVE PRODUCTS, BUT THIS IS MY OPINION.

ALL IN ALL I AM KICKING MYSELF FOR BEING AFRAID TO BUY ONE OF THESE YEARS AGO, FEARING WIMPY SHOWERS WOULD RESULT. I ACTUALLY TOOK MY OLD SHOWERHEAD WITH ME WHEN I MOVED TWELVE YEARS AGO. WHAT FOOLS THESE MORTALS BE!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great if you have low water pressure, May 21, 2011
This review is from: Waterpik TRS 529S/20009490 Elements 5-Mode Showerhead, Brushed Nickel (Tools & Hardware)
I recently moved to a higher elevation, that came with lower water pressure. Showers were frustrating & bad hair days were plentiful. I tried a few different shower heads before this one. I removed the little white flow regulator & all I can say is, Thank You Waterpik! I have a normal shower again & can't even tell that I had low pressure before. I absolutely love it.

Good preasure in full spray, nothing else. Feels plastic and I bet it won't last. I am going back to Siroflex. Best showerhead made.

great shower head. decent amount of pressure. the hi volume pressure mode doesn't really work though, but the normal shower mode is great. definitely worth the low price.

2.0 out of 5 stars No Good New Pick, July 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Waterpik TRS 529S/20009490 Elements 5-Mode Showerhead, Brushed Nickel (Tools & Hardware)
I have used WaterPik since the original was newly on the market. This one is a great disappointment. I had a simple hardware store water saving high pressue one setting and a button to cut off water completely to save water/energy no one really used. I got this Elements 5 model because it was a WaterPik and it offered the mist/pulse options and an increase in spray force. I have the same issues as others do. the mist goes over the top of the curtain and comes out in a micro mist. What i dislike most is that it actually reduces the force of the water pressure by a significant amount. It is awful . the cheap $5 water-saver has twice the force , at least... way more force it more descriptive. I looked in the back for an extra baffle or some obstruction that could be slowing down my normally high water pressure out of the tap. I dont understand how they can advertise this model as increasing pressure by 30%. It is outright misrepresentation. It is misleading at least.I gave it a star because it looks much nicer than the first waterpick i got , however, the first one was not a showerhead but on a hose a 'european' design back then. It was plastic and metal and was heavy but it fired the water out almost too hard in the pulse function. the spray and pulse are a joke. the pulse is barely noticeable. Do not be fooled ,it is not the old WaterPik.
**addition 8/7/10 I actually had to return this shortly after the review.. water spontaneously one morning at start up of the shower began to shoot out of the sides. i had not touched it since the day before and the shower was normal for it.
The force which the water came out of the sides was what i had hoped for from the spray jets.
I got a replacement very quickly and provided the time to return the defective one. I have to say that the replacement has worked for some time now but it is just as ineffective as the first one but this has not decided to melt down on me as yet. It does not turn from positions well, it spins in place unless I use both hands on some moves. It is not able to produce the force it touts in the ad copy. the cheap hardware one provides a far more powerful spray. I have powerful water pressure from the tap this decreases it... dont know why.
Fine company to do business with but the product is not great.
