Just try to find a better map of this lovely country - good luck. We toured Panama for 3 weeks this past March. Granted the map doesn't show small secondary type roads, but show me any map of Panama that does. This map is much more detailed than any in Lonely Planet or the Moon book (though these both have quite acceptable maps). FYI - while traveling through the country we loaned this great map to our Panamanian friends for an afternoon. They had NEVER seen a map this detailed of their own country (says a bunch for the map makers at ITMB). Also, this map doesn't split, tear, fade or rip - fold it any way you need to and it won't come apart!!! Can't say enough good things about this map!!!

the map has the main roads only that every travel book or some web pages have as well. Lonely Planet book has beter maps.

This is a totally inadequate map,if you are trying to find anything besides the main arteries running through the country. The same information is available on guide book giveaways.

The review that says this map is equivalent to one in a guidebook like Lonely Plant is correct. If you need more than the Interamericana, get the Rough Guide map to Costa Rica and Panama. It covers way more roads. If you truly need a map, and we do since we'll be on our touring bikes, this one really doesn't cut it.

After reading so many reivews of travel guides, they all said don't waste the $ on the waterproof map. They must have meant the National Geographic one cause this one is VERY helpful. Only thing better would have been a larger scale map of Panama City (there is an "insert" but it is not big enough). Otherwise, it is fine & glad we got it. Also, Amazon has a better price (and free freight) than you can buy it on the manufacturer's website!

I found this map only as useful as a general map of any given state in the USA but not detailed enough to be a true street map of Panama.

It rains in Panama and so the sturdiness of this map comes in handy because it won't disintegrate if it gets wet. This is particularly true in the folded parts of the map, normal use can cause maps to wear but this one is quite sturdy and will last much longer.

i am disappointed this map is on two sides. for a country the approximate size of s. carolina, this was unnecesary in my mind. also, very little reference to elevations (which are obviously key in a mountain country)

This is a very durable, easy to read map of the country. It lacks much specificity on Panama City, which is too bad as it is hard to find a good map of the city. Perhaps this will be a future enhancement.

Map was of good quality. Many streets were not listed but this map is the best I have been able to find.

My problem however was with the shipping from supplier. It arrived 3 weeks late. I reordered through AOL and received the map within 3 days. The original order arrived later but the enevlope was empty...had no map. I real hassle since I had planned to visit Panama during that week.
