5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting music that takes you where he's been, April 27, 2000

My husband and I absolutely love this CD ! We have played it endlessly it seems. Every track is a story that captures the mind and the heart and takes you on a journey of the soul. Some of the songs have the best beat for dancing in the kitchen, especially "No Rhythm Just Blues". This artist has the ability to write about our fine city's local characters highlighted in "Streets of Seattle"-- an exquisitely written song. There is not one bad take on the whole of this CD. Such powerful voice to go along with great lyrics. Don't know how anyone couldn't be happy with this one. His previous CD "Kiss me one more Time" is also worth listening to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Water's Edge - A tour de force!, October 30, 2011
By
Cathy Doser (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Water's Edge (MP3 Download)
Larry Murante's great album, Water's Edge, is one of the best examples of a singer/songwriter at the top of his game. As is always the case with this artist, this album is a great example of both his singing expertise, and his songwriting prowess. Larry accurately captures short, beautiful stories in each of his songs, and delivers them with such clarity, and absolute professionalism, that you'll find yourself grabbing for this music, over and over again.

Songs like Streets of Seattle and Chumstick Chow take you on quick rides that give you the great feeling of taking a trip with Larry, and having him as your conductor and guide. You'll gain great respect for his guitar playing, and his clear and steady voice, which combine for a rare treat these days of some of the best singer/songwriter experiences you'll find. To say that this equals the great voices of Dylan, Baez, and Guthrie is not a great extension. He's that good.

Take a listen to the samples, if you must, but this is one album you'll be happy to either buy on CD, or download, and be listening to right away! There's not a bad song on this album, they're all winners!
