Editorial Reviews

''The waterwheel takes water and turns, giving it away, weeping'' - Jebedoulah Rumi - 13th Century Sufi Mystic & Poet

Aoeria is dynamic rock band from New York with winding twisty riffs, chewy melodies and introspective, nearly spiritual lyrics. Their debut album Waterwheel features 10 diverse songs with loud crashing guitars and soaring melodies to quiet sprinkled acoustic, the band creates it's own palette to paint unique and interesting sonic portraits for a bizarre radio gallery of sorts. The album artwork and companion DVD expand on the visual aspect with strange pictures taken to accent the mood and draw the listener into the world of Aoeria, or to spark the imagination of the listener. Centered in Massapequa, just east of Manhattan, but drawing inspirations from Upstate in Binghamton were some songs were written and South Shore Long Island were they were developed. The band is completely independent: from the music, recording, and pictures to creating a physical CD & DVD to various web/media creations & communications. Direct from the band, music straight to the ear.

The DVD version, also available in a CD/DVD set and single DVD(available on Amazon) enhances and completes Waterwheel with images that expand and unfold as the songs draw you in. It also includes extra improvs live songs and mystery songs. It also features hi-resolution 24bit 48khz sound direct from the master tapes.

Album includes booklet of featured creatures and interesting items found during the making of the album

Aoeria (A-or-ee-uh) is an independent positive melodic rock band that creates songs from heavy riffs to acoustically strummed odes from the Long Island/New York City area. Singer, guitarist and songwriter Frank Giliberti plays solo acoustic shows with connective energy. On the albums he plays the bass and drums too, with a live band on tap if needed, though Frank knows how to be powerful with just a voice and acoustic guitar. Aoeria's second album, Praise to All You Hear is being released July 6th, 2010 and their first album Waterwheel has gathered more than 1,100 fans on Jango Internet radio & over 30,000 views of Youtube for previews and videos that feature photography slides made by Frank. For more than 12 years he has played in & recorded NY-area bands, and with Aoeria he has culminated a unique writing style and sound featuring intense guitar rock, introspective lyrics and melodic tunes that are made to register directly with the listener. The new album also has a guest spot from Martin Atkins, who was played with PiL, Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, and more. Frank is currently playing solo acoustic shows as Aoeria in the NY and East Coast area which has allowed him to expand on the vibe of the songs by feeding off the energy in the crowd with improvisation and jamming to spread the melodies and tunes through the air. Thanks for listening and enjoy!

Aoeria released the album "Waterwheel" in 2008. It is a collection of heady, heavy, gritty, yet straightforward alternative rock songs. The opener, "Apocrypha" begins with an exotic explosion of drums and guitars before reducing down to follow a strong bass line and somewhat frantic vocals. "Wonder" is more of a relaxed song, at least at first, as it focuses on guitar riffs and reflective vocals before sonic excitement takes over. In "Imminent" we find enlivened drums and guitars keeping up a quick pace in a real rocker of a song. This album is one that harks back to the days when alternative music was filled with fervent guitars and powerful drumming, while still having its own completely unique feel to it. Fans of the older Smashing Pumpkins material, and like music, should check out Aoeria's "Waterwheel." Sean B. and the [...] Reviewer Team
