Waterwise® Distiller Kleenwise Cleaner And Descaler - 40 oz.

This product does exactly what the description says it does and does it perfectly. Even when I go too long between cleanings, if I let my distiller soak over night, the next morning all the scale is either dissolved or soft enough to remove with a brush.

Regarding the 1-star review applied to this product - it never ceases to amaze me that people will post reviews of PRODUCTS for complaints about AMAZON. (Note: I'm giving the 1-star reviewer the benefit of the doubt as I don't see anything on this product's page that would lead me to believe that I was buying a distiller.)

I have used this item for about a year now, I can say it works much better than any other cleaner I have used. I have a Sears water distiller and have used it for cleaning it. The Sears distiller cleaner cost more was not as effective.

We have really hard water and although I try to keep up with the maintenance, my distiller sometimes goes longer than it should between cleanings. The product that I used before this also produced good results but it required another step --boiling-- to do the job. Kleenwise specifically warns against boiling the solution and recommends using warm tap water. I was a bit skeptical about the effectiveness of this method; it just seemed too simple, but I followed directions. When I came back to check after about an hour, the scale had dissolved and the distiller looked good as new. Although it didn't seem necessary, just to be on the safe side, I let it sit for another hour before emptying and rinsing it out. The boiler was sparkling clean.

I'm really quite impressed with how well this works and how easy it is to use.
