works great. This is the second unit we have owned, the other is in a vacation home. We have liked the first so well, we got another for everyday use at home.

Best system on the market,

I have used this system for years and have never had problems with the systems, customer service or the quality of the product.I think the 9000 is the best for home use and if you go to the waterwise.com website you can learn more about the debate about distilled water and decide for yourself. I think that you get what you pay for and that if you want years of service this is the system to choose.

Short life product,

This product has a very short life span. I used it for a few months and then it started to leak. Collection jug cracked. Water initially smelled and tasted like plastic.

I guess the fact that I returned it, is an indication of what I thought. It wasn't just that it was defective ( the spout on the plastic water bottle leaked/dripped). This cost over $400 and they provide a cheap plastic water bottle. I don't really know how the distiller itself worked because the one time I ran it all the distilled water leaked out of the plastic bottle all over the counter and floor.

LITTLE LIFE SPAN - WATERWISE 9000,

I BOUGHT THIS ITEM 6 MONTHS AGO AND NOW IT WON'T WORK. IT HEATS FOR AWHILE AND SHUTS DOWN WITHOUT DISTILLING ANY WATER AT ALL. NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

We love it,

When our local water company started adding flouride to our tap water we decided it was time to start drinking bottled water. This has been the best solution. A very dependable unit that we have run several times a day for 2 years now. I wouldn't want to be without it. I was a bit dismayed to find the original bottle was polycarbonate, but then found they have a safer bottle available now.

Want to be electrocuted?,
By Avid reader "Been there, done that" (North America) - See all my reviews

This product had good reviews, so I was hopeful about its performance. But when I used it, even with careful connection and installation, it leaked 1-2 cups of water *inside* the unit, right over the electrical plug point between the heater and the back of the unit. When I opened it to remove the water collection jug, I was faced with [probably] electrically charged water. The on/off switch is located behind the collection jug, which makes it impossible to shut off during the cycle. I cannot imagine that this product would get any sort of quality control approval, and I discarded mine immediately rather than risk electrocution.

I don't own this product, but on reading about it on the waterwise website I see that the collecting bottle is made from polycarbonate. this is the very same material that has been found to release bisphenol A into water when used to make containers. Given that waterwise and its customers are concerned with water purity and health I'm puzzled as to why the company did not use glass and why people concerned with water purity would be OK using this type of container.
