My opinion , I haven't seen the bluray , but the extended Version looked great on my bluray player , the colors an sound are very good

That would be sweet! I've always liked Water World, but have never seen the extended version. I wouldn't have thought twice about buying the longer one on BD but since its not i'm kinda iffy

Bandsaw - the version that aired on Encore was the full "director's cut" version, without all the cuts. So they wouldn't, as you put it, had to spend "hundreds of thousands of dollars" to give the fans the version they would be satisfied with.

No typo, but the real thing! This new release contains the 136 minute theatrical release version PLUS a new 177 minute extended version, which hopefully will shine a new light onto this underestimated movie.
