This transformer arrived at the house with no continuity (open circuit) through the primary windings, so, no 120V in and no 12V out. This is the second transformer in a row I've ordered from amazon that was defective. Maybe amazon could put some heat on the manufacturers. If you really want to buy this item, and can put up with the hassle, I suggest you order 5 of them, that way you'll probably get at least one that will work, then return the other 4.

Transformer works as stated. Stays cool under load. Markings easy to read. Used it to replace a 40 Watt Halogen transformer that intermittently shut off

I bought this to operate a single 50 watt outdoor lighting fixture with a Halogen bulb. It worked very well in terms of having the capacity and being well made and quite small compared to a large transformer you typically see with yard lighting systems. HOWEVER, these small transformers will not work with a ground fault circuit. If your 120 Volt AC circuit has a ground fault breaker, this transformer will trip it. I bought two of these electronic transformers, a 60 watt and this 75 watt one. Both trip the ground fault. I had to put o full sized Malibu transformer in the circuit to make it work on the breaker. For indoor use, or for operating from a normal 120 Volt AC circuit this is a good low cost solution to having a 12 volt power source.

Not a good value. I bought it to power 32 watts of outdoor lighting and within a week it was dead. When I removed it from it's waterprof enclosure, it had obviously overheated and was seriously swollen. Not a good deal.

Immediately corrected the issue and the lamp is now working. It has a wider profile and may not fit into most railings. Check the thickness!

4 of my under wall cabinet light units stopped functioning within a month after their installation. I spent over $50 on one replacement unit and decided that I did not want to spend over $150 to replace the remaining three units. I bought these three transformers for a fraction of the price of a replacement unit. Easy installation. Make sure to have on hand the appropriate number and size of wire nuts (in my case I needed 4 per unit). The lights have been working since I installed the new transformers one month ago. I would not hesitate to purchase additional transformers if necessary.

I installed this PSU indoors to drive one 50 watt halogen spotlight approximately 50' distant, with the line input of the supply hardwired to an automatic light switch / sensor located outside. Everything worked perfectly at first... then halfway through the first night of operation this power supply literally melted -- the case is bulging substantially and a rubbery material oozed out the bottom of the case. As you'd expect, the supply no longer functions.

Because of the rapid failure of this part in an entirely conventional installation, I cannot recommend its use.

Careful. This is made in China and mine showed up with the label backward indicating the red wires go to the 120V and black and white on the 12V side. Luckily I'm familiar with electrical and I double checked the Amazon web site picture to see if the label was wrong before hooking it up. Other, less experienced users, may not have caught this and this is a major safety and fire hazard. Moreover, after I hooked it up, it didn't work (gave 1 VAC). Be aware that you're purchasing an electrical item made in China so the workmanship may not be as good as you'd like.
