Forget Ugly's,

After years of carrying around a battered copy of those bulky, ugly electrical reference books, I got my hands on a copy of Dr. Watts. It has all the info I really use, wire fill and ampacity tables, grounding examples, and all in a truly pocket sized book. Heavily laminated pages have saved my copy from water and spills more than a few times. It's got a nive sturdy spiral binding to lay flat when I need it for reference. For such a small price, this book is really invaluable. I would recommend getting one for every electrician, new or seasoned.

This book has a lot of tables (like 310-16) that are used often in the field. It also has laminated pages which is great because, I can put it in my back pocket and it won't fade or wear out on me after a while. Great product.

My husband had me purchase this book for him for his work. He tells me that this book is better than the Uglys book. It is a must for people in this field of work.

I've previously given this a 5*, but dropped it to 4 because of confusing information in the book. Often there are charts with no labeling as to what the numbers mean, often turning a "quick reference" into a slow one. Book had a few slices in the pages, not sure what that was from (looked like lateral cuts into the coating, making the print peel off from the page in several places). Wont fit in a pocket with a sewn-in pen holder - most of the arc-flash uniforms have these. Some info you'll never use, other info has formulas with unusual explanations or methods I've never seen before despite my education and background in the field. The other 2 electricians here each said it was better than Ugly's but there is still a lot missing in any small book.

A handy book to have, but more details (like in the Code Keeper series) would be helpful.

I was debating on this or the Ugly's. I decided on this after viewing it at my local book store and comparing the two. This has a superior layout and readability.
