I watched this recently at a film festival and thought it was the most fascinating surfing film I have ever seen. As an avid surfer it was very interesting to learn about George Freeth "the father of modern surfing" and his Irish background. Easily deserves to take its place next to Billabong Odyssey. One of these days the largest wave is for sure going to be ridden in Ireland and I hope to be there. Kelly Slater is amazing in this film as our the Malloy brothers. I am ordering my copy now.

SOO interesting, great visuals, and full of action packed scenes of surfing. I really like the story behind surfing because it is one that not many people know or would even think to be true. If your a fan of surfing, or even just great sports films, you must get this movie!

I already pre-ordered, and after having the pleasure to watch it, I can honestly say this is the BEST surf film I've seen in years, if ever, because it is actually about SURFING! You can feel the soul of it.

I love anything that has to do with the ocean and surfing. This documentary WAVERIDERS turned out to be very, very good and gives a an hour long background into the roots of surfing in Ireland and it's impact on a modern day way of life. Of particular interest was the story of a man named George Freeth who came to America, the 'father' of modern day lifeguarding and the inventor of the torpedo buoy who honed his skills to include minimizing loss of life by adopting skills that would be initiated and implemented by the newly trained 'lifeguards' of Redondo Beach. This man also is known for spearheading the sport of water polo and receiving a Congressional medal of honor before succumbing to spanish flu at the age of 35. An unexpected surprise was to see that occasionally, Ireland has GIANT waves and the footage is fantastic of the surfers dropping in on a few of those "icy hollow slabs" with exquisite finesse!

Very enjoyable video for all those who love the surf and the sea!

Who knew that Ireland, of all places, was the motherland of surfing? Fantastic, jaw-dropping surfing footage given interesting historical context.

I've always been into surfing and surf movies. This one is more in the style of a documentary, but still pretty awesome. You get to see some amazing waves that I would have never thought someone could surf. Definitely a cool film for sports lovers of all types.
