John Martin's Waves of Relazation is a great CD. When I got my copy and played it for the first time, the experience was overwhelming and very soothing. It helped clear my mind of all things presently current. 1.0 out of 5 stars Waves of irritation
I am afraid I found this cd not the least relaxing, but instead
extremely irritating. I was hoping to find something where the
ocean waves predominated, instead was bombarded by
plinky music which completely drowned out the ocean sounds.
Sorry to say, while I found Mr. Martin's text to be satifactory,
the spoken version was highly unconducive to...

John Martin's Waves of Relazation is a great CD. When I got my copy and played it for the first time, the experience was overwhelming and very soothing. It helped clear my mind of all things presently current. The sound of the waves against the shores of the sand in the background along with John's stream of positive thoughts, really makes you feel better, allowing you to cleanse out all the stress and problems that go on in our daily lives. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who is open-minded to the nature of self relaxation. Thanks John for the experience!

5.0 out of 5 stars Flowing, calming, inspires deep exploration of mind state., August 28, 2001

John Martin's voice is simultaneously relaxing and energizing, like a deep OM chant. His steady, refreshing yet mellow words of wisdom are perfectly synched with Ms. Ciani's ethereal instrumentals, creating zero conflict between music and monologue. I found it intelligent without being weird, spacey or sterile (unlike a lot of new age/self-help CDs), allowing for a comfortable release that became evident as the tracks progressed toward an ever-deeper state of mindful relaxation. The end result was a CD that afforded a powerful journey into the now.

When I first received the Waves of Relaxation CD from Mr. John Martin, I was uncertain what to expect, but much to my surprise, this CD is a gem of a meditational companion. After a long night of writing, I often lay back in my jacuzzi and fall into a deep state of relaxation while gently soaking in the sounds of John's soothing voice and Suzanne Ciani's instrumentation. I recommend this CD for all types of human existence!!

This was one of the best stress reducing CD's I have ever heard. John Martin's voice is so peaceful that I often think about it when I am under stress and it takes care of my stress. Good job John!

Ocean waves.. Relaxing voice guiding you to deeply inhale and exhale... perfect for unwinding and going to sleep. The other reviewers that gave this 5 stars are right on the money with this CD. I have many relaxation/sleep cds and I always come back to this one. Suzanne Ciani piano and ocean waves.... breathe...

1.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Irritating Voice, November 4, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Waves of Relaxation: Guided meditations and stress reduction techniques to promote physical and emotional well being (Audio CD)
While the sound of the waves was quite nice, the speaker had the most annoying voice and would draw out words in the strangest places. Instead of saying "relaaaax" and holding the a, he'd say "relaxxxxxx" and keep repeating the x. That sound only made me tense up and start talking back to the tape.
I didn't care for the music either. It was too synthesized sounding for proper relaxation.
Unfortunately, I really hated this tape.

This CD contains few "waves" so if you wanted to hear the ocean this is not the CD for you. Also, the author's voice is not soothing but irritating. His messages are good - he should have hired someone else to do the speaking.
