This group has had a small transition over the years. This cd and the previous 'Resurrection' complete the vocal changeover. All vocals are death growls and heavenly male whispers. Personally I think, it is a good combination, taking the listener to depths, in a deep hard rush, and then to be swept away in silence and gentle emotions. This is very good black metal, all in the same vein as 'Forest of Shadows' and 'Shape of Despair', there are no whispers on their cd's, which is ok and also what make 'Godgory' unique. I have all of their works, and their sound keeps getting, deeper, darker, blacker, bleaker and brooding. That is why they are such a great listen !!!!!

4.5 stars. This band is an interesting mixture of Tiamat and In Flames, but with atmosphere and textured arrangements reminiscent of Pink Floyd. Both this album and their album "Resurrection" remind me of "Wildhoney" by Taimat in that they contain an epic grandeur, leading the listener on a journey into knowledge or madness. While this album has fewer guitar solos, as before, they are tastefully melodic and never overwhelm the listener with the pompous attitude that mars so many other bands. This album is thick with atmosphere, using keyboards as a glorious backdrop, occasionally mixing in gorgeous piano interludes. This band's strength is their knack for arranging the various instruments into a cohesive, emotional structure. While many may think the vocals are the weakest link here, both spoken and Death Metal stylings are present, there is enough variation with the intelligent lyrical content that I rarely noticed. Like "Resurrection" this album has outstanding production value that increases with each spin of the CD. If I had to choose a first purchase, I would pick "Resurrection" first merely because of a singular standout track entitled "My Dead Dreams." But otherwise, both albums are similarly noteworthy, and I plan on listening to them repeatedly in the near future. I highly recommended getting both CDs. Thank you.
