5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for kids and older beginners
I recently decided to learn how to crochet. I have one book, "A to Z of Crochet" that is a wonderful reference for how to make various stitches. However, I wanted another book with easy projects. "Way to Crochet" was just what I needed to get started with some beginner level projects. I have an 11 year old daughter so she will enjoy using some of the projects I'll make...

I actually found the instructions for single chain confusing! I had to check a YouTube video to figure it out. Also, I wish it went beyond single-chain. Book does have some cute projects.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for kids and older beginners, January 1, 2009
This review is from: Way to Crochet!: "20 Cool, Easy Projects for Kids of All Ages" (Paperback)
I recently decided to learn how to crochet. I have one book, "A to Z of Crochet" that is a wonderful reference for how to make various stitches. However, I wanted another book with easy projects. "Way to Crochet" was just what I needed to get started with some beginner level projects. I have an 11 year old daughter so she will enjoy using some of the projects I'll make from this book. Things I plan to make include the Best-Friends Bracelets, Ribbon Shoelaces, Button-up Bracelet, Bead-dazzled Rings, Hip-tie Belt, Stretchy Headband, and Rainbow Yarn Purse.

You don't have to be a kid to enjoy the patterns in this book. More "grown-up" projects include two different scarf patterns, a pet blanket, cat toys, a bath mitt, and a pillow.

5.0 out of 5 stars great resource, May 31, 2008

I run a Crochet Club at the school where I work for 3rd and 4th graders. Although patterns are challenging for my students to read, they enjoy getting ideas from the book.

I love this book! I plan on using it for a summer reading project at our library. I'm hoping that it will get kids "hooked" on crochet and reading!

(This is not Jung-Kook by the way, but his talented 14 year old daughter.)

Alright, it's not so good. The patterns for one, are all (literally) made of single crochet. BORING!!! Some of the patterns are ones I've already tried. I design most of my patterns on my own, so I like books that are different and more advanced than what I do. I didn't actually mean to buy this book, but SOMEHOW it rolled in when I had actually ordered "Lark Kids' Crafts: Crochet". (This one's fab by the way.) The idea of the projects are meant for younger kids rather than teenagers and adults. Even if you are a beginner, believe me, this is not the place to start.

Here are some books you SHOULD try: "Stitch and Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker"
"Lark Kid's Crafts: Crochet"
"Simple Stylish Crochet"

This item never arrived. I have contacted the seller several times and Amazon and nothing has happened. Why isn't Amazon doing something about these vendors? They keep asking me to rate the transaction instead of seeing that I either get the item or get my money back. This is the very first time I have ever had any trouble ordering from Amazon but they need to get on disreputable vendors.
