This review is from: The Way of G-d (Pocket Size Edition) (Hardcover)
This is one of the most inspiring of Musar sefers. It is a book which today also is frequently studied in the Yeshiva world. It is a book of poetic thought of a God - intoxicated thinker. And it shows the way to come closer to God in thought.
It is one of those works which can be read and studied over and over again. For each time it reveals new depths and insights. A true Torah Classic.

I came across Rabbi Luzzatto's name in the course of searching for something totally unrelated. His biography, his instruction by his spirit mentors was somewhat shamanic and I decided to check out his writings. I think The Way of G-d (Derech haShem)will be a life-long study; I think it will be so for any student of spirituality, Jewish or non-Jewish. The Rebbe speaks profoundly about the unconditional love the Creator pours out for the Creation and for the being at the center of it all: man. After describing the various hierarchies of beings and forces in the Universe, Rabbi Luzzatto brings us to the realization that they are all geared, that all of their work, is designed to create a world in which Man may have ample opportunity to make choices and to exercise free will--all of this in God's hope that we will choose to turn toward the Ultimate Goodness that is God. When I think of an Omnipotent Being,Who could compel any being to do any thing,hoping--standing back and patiently waiting--for Its creation to choose closeness to the Creator when it has the freedom to move in any direction, I am amazed. The translation is in clear language, making it easy for a non-Hebraic student like myself to read and understand. Rabbi Luzzatto offers insights into reward and punishment, pain and suffering and joy and bliss with in the context of God's desire and hope for creation. An excellent addition to the library of any student of religion or spirituality.
