Ratings of the songs (not intros and skits)

War (3.5/5) - Pretty solid raps actually but semycorny hook

Love LA (4/5)- Best song of the album, much becouse of the sick beat

The Way I Am (3/5) - pretty good, tight beat plus Snoop as well

Watch Out (2/5) beat is pretty good but I'm not feelin the lyrics

Peepin' Tom (1.5/5) wack beat and lyrics

Click-Click (4/5) short but good song

Love Slave (1.5/5) U have to be a real wack rapper to destroy this beat

What We Do (3/5) the bass sounds tweaked in my speakers but otherwise pretty decent

I Like (2/5) The first rapverse is bangin, the second is wack as well as the hook and the beat is wack too

Change This Game (2.5/5) - so so

Until the Day (2.5/5) - SO SO, GOOD RAPS BUT BEAT & HOOK IS SOSO

Have Fun (1.5/5) - pretty wack

Never Stop Thuggin (1/5) - wack , pop song

Why buy this man when u can buy XZIBIT's first 2 albums, or Mack 10's recipe? Answer: i dont know-...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good first full length album, November 16, 2004
By
This review is from: Way I Am (Audio CD)
The Long Beach native, Knoc-Turn'al, finally returns after a bunch of push back dates, almost 2 years after his 6 song EP with a 13 song full length album that is pretty good. It has 1 classics, 1 near classic, 1 song I skip and 4 that are ok, the rest alla re good. Production is done by many people, Precision, LAC Productions, each do 2 songs, and Mel Man, Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, Timbaland, Hannon, Scott Storch, Warren G, Damizza, and PAdrone all do 1 song. He has his tracks where he sings and raps together, a trait that he does well and it makes his sound unique. About half of the songs feature someone else. Not as good overall as I though it would be, but still a good album for west coast fans to have.

#2 - 8 (f/ Slip Capone)
#3 - 9.5 (about why he loves LA)
#4 - 9 (f/ Snoop Dogg)
#5 - 8 (w/ Hittman --- dirty song)
#7 - 8 (uses the names cleverly of a bunch of west coast albums and classic songs)
#8 - 8 (f/ Slip Capone & Yykes)
#9 - 7.5 (dirty song produced by DJ Quik)
#10 - 10 (CLASSIC -- f/ Xzibit, Warren G, Nate Dogg - he always has good songs when he gets together with these guys -- good beat as well)
#11 - 8 (f/ Yero Brock)
#12 - 5
#13 - 7 (deep song produced by Blaqthoven)
#14 - 7
#15 - 6.5 (f/ Lil Mo)

3.0 out of 5 stars knoc isn't slip capone. from a REAL rap fan, March 11, 2006
This review is from: Way I Am (Audio CD)
i don't know much about knoc, but it's true that this cd is 3 stars at best. his homeboy slip capone is still one of the best featured artists out there and i'll buy and play anything with him on it. capone needs a lp bad.

the real reason i am righting this review:
as far as "Johnny Salzone" up out of nyc (read the below review first), i ain't defending drive byes in the slightest way, but by you glorifying walking up to somebody and shooting them in the face just goes to show that you have no clue as to what your talking about. it's ignorance like yours that makes it possible for pointless violence to still existed in rap. just keep your mouth shut about sh-t you don't know about. like to see how long your scary a-- last in the CPT talkin that sh-t, i can't believe you motherf-ckers are still hung up on that east vs west, get a life. Hey ya'll check out this fake fool's other reviews like the one on a book about the five points he calls a reviewer a "dingbat". this guy doesn't even know about his own local hip-hop culture. comment on somthing you know about, leave rap to those who actually follow it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Knoc-Turn'al/Way I Am, July 22, 2004

This review is from: Way I Am (Audio CD)
Being probably the biggest Knoc-Turn'al fan in the world, I would say that this album is a classic. After an Intro, the album starts you off with a track called "War" which is actually one of my least favorite tracks on the album. (but still a 4.5 rating) But after that, Knoc comes out with a strong track, "Love LA" A song about him telling were he comes from. It's an awesome song. After that, comes the first single from this album. An outstanding hit with Snoop Dogg, called "The Way I Am". Without a doubt the strongest song on the album. It has strong beats & lyrics, and is an overall classic song. Skipping ahead to track 10, "What We Do" is another banging song. Features west coast gangsta rappers Xzibit, Nate Dogg, and Warren G. This album includes production from West coast producers Dr.Dre and DJ Quik, though also has production from East coast based producer Timbaland. Being my favorite album in the world, I think that this album really saved 2004 from being the worst music year ever. This is classic album, it's a must have.

4.0 out of 5 stars West Coast = Best Coast, April 30, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Way I Am (Audio CD)
This CD is stricktly West Coast, even though there is a track produced by Timbo. If you like that classic west coast sound then this is a great CD. I only give it 4 stars because it doesnt all really flow like I feel an album should. I mean you can have different sounds and make it flow at the same time, but that is not the case with "the way I am." He is a promising rapper, and I look forward to his next release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Knoc-Turn'al is the bomb..., April 5, 2004

"myispfinder" (Steamboat Springs, CO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Way I Am (Audio CD)
I had the pleasure of seeing Knoc-Turn'al with Ludacris & Chingy in Denver just a few days before the album was released... There wasn't a person at that concert that doesn't now own this album... He puts on a great show, and the album is awesome west-coast hip hop...

Some tight beats, and great appearances on this album make it first rate... I'll play a track or 4 off this album in the club.

And, speaking of Westside Connection... I'll write a review for them after I see them live May 12th!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Beauty, March 30, 2004
By
This review is from: Way I Am (Audio CD)
Knock is sick on this album. The song with Hittman is my fav. Some of the songs u need to get used to but overall beauty album. If Dr.Dre produced more of the songs on this album, it would be off the hizzle.

4.0 out of 5 stars west coast is back, March 28, 2004
By
Mike C (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Way I Am (Audio CD)
Way I am is must have, knoc has a unique style unlike any one in the rap game, guest qpperances by,xzhibit, warreng, snoop, natedog, hitman, slipcapone, defintley help the album, production wise, dre, djquick, timbaland, scott storch, damizaa, all supply crazy tracks. However,if you like that fake pop rap like, chingy, jkwon, and ja rule, then this aint the album for you,but if you truly love hip hop then cop this. It wont sell a ton of units because of that east coast bias, but its a solid album, and way better then some of the stuff coming out of that other coast. Yeah the west coast is back, and dont forget who invented gangsta rap!
