5.0 out of 5 stars Mysticism and Sound from our Pueblo culture
Joseph Rael/Beautiful Painted Arrow is one of the Creator-spirit's biggest gifts to this earth in this time. I have been blessed to know and study with Joseph for over 20 years, both on the East Coast and in the Southwest. He is a modern-day mystic, teacher, healer and artist with a reservoir of stillness, clarity and, amazingly, humor.

The Way of Inspiration...

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, but really didn't feel it.
It was an interesting read, but I guess I just didn't follow it. Maybe rereading it when I am less under stress. It just didn't feel the way many of the books I have read feel. Like truth.

This review is from: The Way of Inspiration: Teachings of Native American Elder Joseph Rael (Paperback)

The Way of Inspiration is best read after you have familiarized yourself with Joseph's meta-physical understanding and exploration of Sound, the meanings it contains, and its creative power. I recommend Being and Vibration, co-authored with one of his students, Mary Elizabeth Marlow, and also the crystalline beauty of one of his latest books, a partial memoir, The House of Shattering Light.

Way of Inspiration will take you through a vibrational excursion into the deeper aspects of numbers 1 through 10. It is a multi-read, and you will find increasing depths of understanding as you re-visit it over months and years. Do note that most Pueblo people of this modern day have not investigated their ancient language (Tiwa) or the mysteries of sound as Joseph has, so do not expect this to be 'Indian 101'...

4.0 out of 5 stars Mystical process of creation shown through sacred number, June 17, 2011

This review is from: The Way of Inspiration: Teachings of Native American Elder Joseph Rael (Paperback)
In this book Joseph shares with us details and luminous aspects of the move of consciousness through manifestation. As an example, at 1 there is unity but with a divine longing, at 2 there is a falling into something surprising which can trap us in duality if we are not aware (which is what has happened to most people on planet earth, at 3 there is the desire for more and we use movement which helps to cultivate spiritual perception, at 4 there is the ascending to higher planes of awareness through the action of generosity. This is a gross simplification of the start of this process through the Tiwa numbers 1-10. And Josephs language in this book is much clearer and more feeding to the soul than I can express in this review. This is a solid library addition to anyone interested in sacred number, Native American studies, and mysticism in general.
